As a child of the 60's and 70's and 80's, I grew up with him. He was exceedingly gifted, but ultimately destroyed by those around him.
I'm in awe of his talent. Wifey and me spent two and a half hours in tears watching the memorial. He really wasn't of this plane and hopefully finds peace.

I definitely respect him as a musician who revolutionized the music world. In regards to his personal life, it's not my business; enough have judged the man already. RIP.
