Have faith, man. My wife and I must have looked at over 30 houses while we were looking, and we lost 2 bids (one of them at asking price!). In the end, we ended up with a great house in great neighborhood with only a few minor headaches along the way.

It seems like we've been looking at houses forever. It's probably been somewhere in the 30-40 range. There have been only a few that we've been serious about. The one that we lost we offered about $15k more than asking.....OUCH! Needless to say we were pretty pissed.

Here's hoping on this house, apparently there's some water damage so they're asking us to do a repair escrow. We won't know the extent though 'til we get it inspected. I'll let you guys know!

same as an inspection, done by an independent service, that is well worth the money so you dont get a surpise later

Quick update:

We've been waiting for the people who's financing fell through to cancel their offer (apparently that has to happen for our offer to be submitted). Our offer "went in" a week ago, & we're still waiting.

The good news is we just found out that nobody else has looked at it still or put an offer in.

Congrats on the upcoming weddingand Good Luck with the House, My fiance and i settle Aug 4th and marry Sept 25th. I totally understand the stress related. I am POSTIVE things will work out for you. They did with us. We looked high and low and then one just fell into our laps.

Well, after accepting a counter-offer from the bank, it looks like we got the house!

We get to have a 203k repair escrow built in too, so we can afford to fix some stuff up before we move in!

Quick update:

Closing is scheduled for Monday the 17th.

Right after we're going to get started on the work. The first thing is to get the main floor bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, & living room in good shape so we can move in. After that we'll focus on the upstairs & the basement while we live there.Both my wife & I start college again for the year in a couple weeks, so it should be interesting how all of this goes.

I'll post pics of what needs to be done as soon as we close!
