Re: razer or electric

I always use electric. Just so much quicker and I have yet to run into a problem where there is something it can't get at.

Re: razer or electric

I answered good old fashioned, and I mean it. I use a straight razor on the weekends (when I have more time and patience), and then a double edge razor during the weekdays. I'll never buy another one of those 8-bladed plastic cartridges ever again.

Re: razer or electric

I have a beard trimmer that has a nice attachment to it. I hate shaving so I tend to let the beard grow for a few days then cut it back,,,,like hedge trimming. As a kid I always wanted to shave like the big boys and grow beards,,,now I wish I could get the cat to lick my face instead. Wish I had all the time back I have spent shaving.

Electric, but I usually follow up with regular razor for a close shave.

Re: razer or electric

Electric all the way. I used to prefer the closeness of a straight razor. I have been using a pre-shave lotion called Lectric Shave. It makes the electric razors comparable to old fashioned ones.

Re: razer or electric

Hate shaving. Now that i'm a graybeard with a Vandyke, I get by with 2-3 times a week. Gillette Mach 3 with Edge shave gel. Tried the electric thing. Didn't work rof me.

Re: razer or electric

Both and neither.

I use an electric razor to get down to the 5 o'clock shadow a la Miami Vice then a blade to clean up around the edges.

I'm with Gary, I go as many days as I can get away with without shaving...so I'll shave maybe twice a week. I prefer the George Michael look and so do the ladies....er, mrsreindeer, I think....although it's 'scratchy'.

About a decade ago, I switched back to regular razors instead of electric, not sure why....might be because of razor burn...I seem to recall that somebody told me once a regular razor was better but that can't be....I get some terrible razor burn. Another reason I only shave once or twice a week.

I was turned on to this razor burn product called Tendskin but I don't use it every day like I probably should. I use it after shaving and it does take the redness away, well, a lot of it.
