So because I don't like that ugly a$$ bow tie you want to pick on my grammer, classic! By the way just because I didn't paste and cut I was right by what I said. And they are called Pony Cars for a reason, the Mustang!

Re: What's Your Favorite American Muscle Car ?
OK Ok, no fighting. Let me settle this for you guys. Both your Chevy and Ford will have the paint fading in less than 5 years. It will be rattling from who knows where, and Government Motors probably won't be around to service it.
Now shake hands and go buy a car from Europe.. |

Bimmers and Benzes are way overrated, if that's what you're implying. Porsche, on the other hand, is a different story. |

Re: What's Your Favorite American Muscle Car ?
I am implying BMW, Porsche and Rover. Quality is 100% superior to American. Took me a year at doing insurance appraisals years ago to see that. Everything from the quality of paint, to the gaps on the doors/trunks/quarter panels to the interior quality, hands down the Germans know what they are doing. As for Rover, reliability not so much, but it is a Rover so I cut it some slack. 3 years and 70k miles on my last BMW not one problem. And all maintenance included! You can't beat that...

Re: What's Your Favorite American Muscle Car ?
I figured BMW was more of a Trojan car. I saw more of those than anything. But I like to off road and camp out and if you are going to do it you may as well do it in style, right? Plus out of the box they are the best off road. Why smoke a Swisher Sweet when there are Cubans available?

But for Muscle cars- I like Chevelle SS 454, I like the looks! But my dream Super car is Ferrari ENZO FXX, you can't beat it! and Mercedes SL Brabus And for regular production Fast cars, you can take any time, a Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series, and it's gonna be faster then any Mustang, or Chevy or BMW, or whatever, but not as fast as a Super car affcors! Like someone said earlier lets compare apple to apple, not watermelon too apple!

Re: What's Your Favorite American Muscle Car ?
Nice, Enzo. I am more a Lambo fan but the Enzo is bad. My old boss when I was in the mortgage industy had an Enzo, Porshche GT, Maybach, and MB SLR!!! (among others) I just had to sit there and drool everytime I walked by his parking spot at work!!
If I had to pick a classic American it would probably be a 69 Camero SS. It was always my dad's favorite car as I was growing up. He is a die hard Chevy guy. |

Re: What's Your Favorite American Muscle Car ?
To all the american car bashers, when is the last time you owned an American car or truck? I put tons of miles on mine and have never had a problem!
Now I don't care what you drive, just like smoke what you like. But I have pride in what I drive and if they where pieces of crap it wouldn't be in my drive way.

But let's get a real picture of the car up instead of some cheesy deformed CGI cartoon, shall we? ![]() My personal favorite of the A/C Cobras was the 289 Le Mans coupé. Only three of these were ever produced. One of these raced in the 1963 Le Mans and probably had the performance to win (a similar Cobra coupé did a top speed of 185 mph, blindingly fast for that time), but it was disqualified when the carter was punctured and they had to replace the oil prematurely. ![]() I will also give Ford credit for producing probably the most successful engine of all time in the Cosworth DFV. This engine was behind 12 Formula 1 driver's championships in 14 years (from 1968-1982). It won 2 Le Mans 24 hour races. The turbocharged variant won 10 Indy 500 races. It is responsible for countless races won in lower series such as CART, F3000, etc. My personal favorite of the cars powered by the DFV is the 1978 Lotus 79 - ![]() Let's also not forget the Ford GT40 which claimed an absolute dynasty at Le Mans in the late 60s, winning 4 years in a row. Aside from that, it is also one of the most beautiful cars in auto history, standing up to the test of time better than any other vehicle - Ford also has an unparalleled commitment to Rally, and has raced virtually continuously from 1936-present. I'm not quite as familiar with this branch of motorsport, but suffice to say that it's a safe bet that more Escorts, Fiestas, and Focuses (Focii?) have raced in rally than any other manufacturer. I have a particular fondness for the brutally powerful (450 HP from a 1.8L engine in a car that only weighed 2300 pounds) Group B RS200 - ![]() Yes, GM has had perennial success with the Corvette in Le Mans and other GT series, but nobody has had as much impact in as many aspects of motor racing as Ford. I think tradition is a big reason people buy american cars, because I just don't see them competing on price, performance, or features. Well, unless you drive a pickup. I don't know much about pickups but the US manufacturers appear to be pretty competitive in that arena. Maybe there are some Tundra drivers out there who would disagree, I don't know. |

You stated that Rover Quality is 100% superior to American cars, right? Range Rover Sport's look good but they have basically the worst quality on the planet. Actually, Land Rover is statistically THE WORST brand on the planet for quality and dependability. Range Rover ranked second-to-last in the 2007 Consumer Reports (US) car reliability survey. (Mercedes took the bottom place.) In the same survey, the LR3/Discovery with a V8 engine was ranked the second least reliable SUV in the midsized category. (The 2006 model year M-class of Mercedes took the last place in that category.)
How about reliability (per JD Power)? Land Rover gets 2 out of 5 while Buick gets 5, Cadillac gets 4, and Ford and Chevy each get 3. hmmm |
