ok so who has a gambling problem?

how much would you estimate you would have if you didnt keep losing it all. at my most I had 9000 then lost it all in video poker in less than a minute, after that I havent been lucky enough to get past 2K I got up to 1K a few times then try to bet bigger amounts to get more quicker and I always end up losing it all. All I can say is at least its fake money, its not even that is just a meaningless number. but it still hurts when I lose...

Re: ok so who has a gambling problem?

I unfortunately play with real money. Pot limit Omaha is my usual game and it's addictive like crack! I just remembered a time when I went to a cardroom with some friends and this one friend in particular isn't a very good player so after I left him alone and came back to his table about a hour later he looked like hell and I asked "How much did you loose?" his reply "This month's rent." I had to take his wallet after that because he wanted to buy back in and try to win back what he lost. We went outside for a smoke and he was almost in tears. It was one hell of a night (we got to the cardroom around 2am and played till about 6am) and when something like that happens you know you have a problem.

When I play with friends its usually a 5 dollar buy in and the winner can usually take home 50 bucks or so. I think that's a good amount to play with cuz if you loose 5 to 15 bucks ehh who cares, and winning 50 is a nice chunk of change. so no tears if i loose and not a bad prize if I win.

Re: ok so who has a gambling problem?

I had a problem back in college. First time I played craps I won almost $10k. Then I'd lose $5 or 6k. Then I'd win. It would be a never ending cycle. I was down probably $10k of my own money (student loans) when I hit 4 of a kind on Caribean Stud and the dealer qualified. I walked away with about $25k. Since then, I put about $20 in a slot and won nothing, so now...I'm done gambling. I won't even play in friendly little games because I'm an idiot and can't really control my gambling.

Funny this should come up, im not rich by any means but i do enjoy playing some roulette, and i usually come home with some cash. By usually i mean EVERY time minus my most recent trip to Atlantis in the bahamas.

Usually i win enough to pay for a chunk of my trip, i walked out $1500 down this last time

But overall im ahead so im happy

I just went on a cruise and left about 1500 down, but the cruise before that i walked off the ship 10k up. so it basically paid for both trips and my casino time. I was going to the casino quite a bit here a few months ago, but after my power and cable got shut off, i realized that was a bad thing, so I dont play at all anymore.
