Hookah anyone?

I do enjoy my cigars but at times going outside and smoking a great cigar with a few people isn't quite the same as prepping the hookah and getting a bowl going with a larger group. The hookah is great for a group setting as I've found more people inclined to try hookah than a cigar and it doesn't make the house stink!

I was just wondering how many other cigar smokers out there enjoy hookah and if so, what kind of hookah tobacco they enjoy?

1. How dare you say Cigars make the house stink. haha

2. I also enjoy Hookah, and have for a few years. Ive got a large 2 hose one and a couple smaller single hose pipes. Starbuzz is by far number one on my list of brands of cigars, but pricey. Al Fakher is also decent depening on the flavor.

I can't agree with this... the medical facts and reality regarding hookah are just nothing you want to risk yourself with, especially since there's no physical way to prevent over-indulgence because you don't feel it until after it's gotten into you (due to the affection delay of the actual chemical and smoke)

Direct inhalation via a large form is not a good thing.

Personally I see hookah being a gateway to drugs... especially at colleges.

My wife's got a hookah and she likes Al Waha strawberry. It's really good tasting and good smelling. I'll hit it once in while.

Re: Hookah anyone?

My brother used to smoke on in his apt. until I slept there one day and used it for something else. The next night my brother calles me screaming that I left *** in his hookah and he is now on the toilet after eating a crave case from White Castle and a box or Oreo Double Stuft cookies, it was hilarious. I guess he loaded up his baccy without taking out my leftover "baccy".

Its cut and stripped tobacco that is infused with fruit flavors and usually a molasses type base.
Thick and gooey with a real sweet flavor, and you put it in a bowl, then a screen of some kind on top (usually aluminum foil) and light a coal. When you puff on the hose it pull air from the top through the coal and tin foil and heats the tobacco and pulls it through the water in the bottom and into your hose.

Most people don't inhale, but some do. When made right, it is very mild and tasty. People who claim the hookah 'Buzz" are no different than the ones getting a buzz from a cigar.

Its called lack of oxygen to your brain! Well you know what i mean. People smoking too much too fast and in a tight room with no ventilation. Each puff creates a LARGE amount of smoke, but because of the fruity and sweet flavors it is easily consumed.

I think he's one of those people that haunts the forums and then sees something they want to post on and so does so.

Same way I did it, though mine was a more detailed series of posts... though I've never made an introduction, that's something that isn't really "me", as directing attention to myself in that form is the worst thing for me.

I won't say they're a disease, but I will say they can lead to a myriad of unfortunate things.

Well to see someone take up hookah, then turn to drugs is unfortunate, but i highly doubt the hookah is to blame.

It is not an illegal drug, it would cause drug use no more than cigarettes or cigars, or pipes would.

I have a large group of friends who smoke hookah, and do not use recreational drugs what so ever. That neither proves that you are wrong, or that i am right. But it proves the same as you seeing it happen.

This mainly happens at colleges... and often as well.

Someone will start up a legally defined "hookah club" and they'll get people to try it, next thing you know there are 3 hookahs and with 40 people crowded around it, constantly smoking around the campus (legally) and in class talking about or yelling about hookah this and hookah that, and I need my fix this, and whatever else...

Several months later, they decide that well hookah was good, let's try marijuana... and sometimes they even smoke it the same way... or other times they'll just continue progressing through to higher drugs.

I've never touched illegal drugs in my life, and I have no intention to ever do so. Hookah is far too dangerous with the amount of smoke asphyxiation going on, as well as the numerous things within the directly "toked" tobacco. The fact it is widely used or made into a gateway drug or that blatant hookah club is exactly why the public and anti smoking groups are all in an uproar, and it's also exactly why you have to be EXACTLY 10 feet away from the doors of any college campus to legally smoke.

FYI, posting an intro is not for purposes for directing attention. If I came into your house, opened the fridge, grabbed a beer and sat down for a bit, wouldn't you at least like to know my name? We are all guests here and some of us have been here longer than others. It is out of respect for the members here as well as the forum overall to just do an intro post. You don't have to include your name, rank and serial number, just a bit about yourself.
