a little rant

SO about a month ago i was at work. I had an easy route (Im a meter reader for Jcp&l in Sussex county NJ) My boss calls just before i get done. ASk me if i can go help another reader out that has a longer route. SO i finish up and call the the person to set up a place to meet. Now it the person last day reading meter befor he goes into another job with teh company. So he taking his sweat time reading meter . NO big deal. days almost over with and i have a nice cigar to smoke as soon as im done. so i go about reading meter. it getting that time to go back and i say ok i'll read a couple more light up and go back. Next meter pop up bad dog. Long drive way to the house. I pull up bang on the car door yell for the dog. Just trying to make some noise to see if the dog out. No dog so i get out and go to the meter which it behind the house. AS soon as i get to the meter i see the dog off a bit laying down on a leash. Dog takes a look at me and lays back down.Im thinking to my self ok he on a leash and cant get to me . so I turn just a bit to read the meter and bam the dog got my hand. I jump back look at teh dog who now just sitting there looking at me. cant get any closer to me cuz of the leash. I take a look at my right hand and it cover with blood. I call my boss and make it back to the office. Now their a good 1 inch deep cut on my palm by my middle finger and 3 other puncher wounds.

Now after 2 weeks we have a meeting and they pretty much tell me it was my fault and they gave me a warning. also told me i need to call ahead to find out were all bad dogs are befor i get out of the car. Now for the next year i cant have any more accidents or i will prolly get fired. I was sick this pass week and miss 2 days. Now i have to put off having my cochlear surgery till next year. dont have enought time to get it done this year . And to top it off having car trouble again. sorry for the rant. Still sick and cant smoke yet. Dont have the money to buy any cigars till i get the car fix Cant wait for teh new year

Do yourself a favour and find another job. Sounds like your boss is a dick. A warning for what? Doing your job?

I agree. Sounds like they need someone who is skilled at being mauled and has the uncanny ability to keep working.

My boss a good guy . the warning came from the higher ups. they said as soon as i seen the dog i should of gone back to my car asap. i no the warning sucks but i really do love my job. Their no place i going to go making what i make to walk around all day. the job also has really good medical so i can get my surgery. It like any other job got to take teh good with the bad. What i might do is junk the car and use the new honda crv i got at the begin of the year. dont think it worth it to keep dumping money into the car
