Re: Plumbing...what a day...

That sounds like a bummer.... plumbing is one of those things I dont enjoy messing with.

I have a toilet that keeps running slowly, but enough that it bugs me... I'm too cheap to call a plumber so I hope I can handle it..... if not there may be two of us with out water.

Best of luck with that Faucet!!

Check the "O" rings in the handles/valves.
Just a suggestion

Take the arm that has the "ball/float" on it and bend the ball side down somewhat. Don't go crazy with it, do it gradually till the water stops. This actually raises the valve to stop the water/drip.
AND/OR
Check the "flapper" if it doesn't form a good seal on the drain of the tank; water will leak into the bowl and the valve will stay open enough to let the water continuously run into the tank to compensate for the loss into the bowl.
Either way, I'd get it fixed. Cheap or not, if not done now, the water bill will add up in the long run.

I'm no plumber, but work @ Lowe's and learn a lot of helpful stuff.

Hope this helps ya'll out some.

Re: Plumbing...what a day...

Thanks for the tips... I'll look into both of them...

Then if no luck, I may start replacing parts.

The Bayratt get's a Lil' RG bump, thanks man... went up to Lowes bought a flapper valve, literally a two minute repair, and the problems solved...total cost 5.77.. I'll probably save that in a month and wont have to listen to that water running, priceless!!!

Never know what you might learn on a cigar forum????

What brand of faucet?? More than likely you shut the water off under the sink.....if so the bib washer prolly broke up and stopped up the valve, or the aerator is stopped up (for a single handle) If its a 2 handle and no water comes out...unscrew the aerator and try cleaning it if this does not take care of it then its in the supply or valve body. always check the aerator first. When you turn the water on and off you can break up calcium and stop it up....easy fix.

What kind of watercloset is it?? Mansfield, Kohler, American standard, Toto, Kilgore, etc.. the name should be either insid the tank or on the bowl, close the seat and look behind it just before the tank. Nowadays all are diffrent. what does the fillvalve look like i.e. what color? do you see a flush ball, flapper or disc? In other words when you look in the tank what do you see, other than that blue crap that should never be in there.

Power Flush USA

I have been using this system for along time and never have to deal with all that toilet running nonsense or having to make repairs. This system is idiot proof and works perfectly. For $20 you don't have to deal with the flapper, chain, ball or rod and you can adjust the volume and flush with this thing if you have a toilet that doesn't have as much flushing pressure that you need. I had one toilet that would clog because there wasn't enough pressure which made using that toilet a PIA for real.

True other than a couple of flaws they have ...the Sloan flushmate cartridge is easy enough to replace and works well provided the cartridge is in right , However, to replace the cylinder is costly and a bitch.
