Thoughts on this? (i dont want to start a flame war or anything)

Since this is brought up a lot well here in CA just wanted to know your thoughts on it.

Gov. Schwarzenegger is being pressured more from all sides to sign Senate Bill 572
SB 572 would pressure every California public school to have an official Harvey Milk Day promoting the homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda to children as young as kindergarten. This legislation is written so broadly that it could allow gay-pride parades on campus, cross-dressing, and homosexual marriage dramas, etc. It's all going to come down to how much pressure California 's governor feels. Last year the Democrat-controlled Legislature passed Harvey Milk Gay Day, but Schwarzenegger vetoed it.

This year, Schwarzenegger is being lobbied more heavily by homosexual activists. Sean Penn, who played Harvey Milk on the big screen, and Milk's homosexual activist nephew, have both lobbied Schwarzenegger to ask him to sign SB 572. This year there are four more Democrats in the Assembly voting for Harvey Milk Gay Day. And for the first time Republican Senator Abel Maldonado is supporting this anti-traditional family value bill.

Never heard of it. But I don't keep up with whats going on with homosexual activists. My question is are you trying to verify this is true because you agree with it or because you don't? Regardless if you do or don't, I think you posted this on the wrong forum.

Amen brother. It's about school and learning the 3 R's. Since when did school become a place to bring in this crap? Gripes me to no end that we pay taxes so that teachers are having to "educate" students in birth control, sex education, now "gay" day? I'm glad my kids are grown and on their own or I'd yank them out of these kinds of "schools" where gov't says they need to have this kind of crap being taught. Can this nation become anymore immoral? Nevermind, I just answered my own question. ( rant over )

I have nothing against gay people. If they want to get married, doesn't bother me. If they want a parade, that doesn't bother. If they want equal rights, that doesn't bother me at all.

This, however, is a very silly idea. There are far more important things to be teaching kids at school. Incorporate gay history in the history class curriculum, but don't make a full day dedicated to it. And kids in kindergarten are too young to really understand what any of this really is.

Teaching kids about this is as silly as black history month... before you jump to any conclusions on that statement, watch this video why I think it's silly.

This is pretty ridiculous. We don't need a special day for everything. It's not like the kids in school aren't aware of homosexuality. They know what it is, why does a special day have to be set aside to shove it down everyones' throats regardless of interest. This applies to everything as well, not just homosexuality. Next we'll be having genital herpes day and premature balding day. I'd love to see them have a National White History Month. I bet that'd go over really well.

I think in the end these type of activities breed segregation by drawing unnecessary attention to themselves and forcing individuals that may have no interest to participate. Schools should stick to what they're there for, preparing children for the workforce and living successful lives.

As an aside, I love Morgan Freeman.

when the hell do i get my day? Seems like everybody has their own day. I feel left out. However.....i do work for the state of NE so if Obama makes it a holiday Ill get it off for sure!!! Then ill have like 17 paid holidays!! I even get Arbor day off. With that being said Im gonna call and vote for it just to see if we can make CA any stranger.
