Memorial Day weekend in Texas

Just thought I would post quick to say what a great time I'm having in TX!!! Arrived on Thursday morning and got some business done, but what would our business meeting be like without cigars Smoked a 97 Robaina Famoso and then took a drive and lit up some 1970 Bolivar PC's. Yesterday was more business during the day and to reward ourselves for getting a ton of stuff done we headed to the Palm for dinner. Started the evening with a Davidoff 5000, then a Partagas 150 (CG size). Dinner was lobster bisque, caesar salad and NY strip with asparagus and mash pot's. After dinner a cappacino and a custom rolled triple ligero robusto, which have an interesting story behind them as to how the blend was created between the roller and the "special" customer for whom they were rolled (months and months of samples being sent back and forth and tweaking until the customer was thrilled with the outcome). I had been fortunate enough to get a 5 pack of these in the DC format down here last year for the herf, but had smoked my last one maybe a month ago. Well the aforementioned "customer" who helped create these for himself lives here and brought 2 more of them for me last night a truly generous and very knowledgeable brother. The evening ended on the porch back at the house with fresh roasted coffee, 70% cocoa chocolate and 98 Cohiba corona especials. It's off to Rudy's now for the best BBQ I've ever had (first exposure to Rudy's was last year) and then off to the herf. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial day weekend!

Sounds like you're having a great time! Are you in Houston? The weather is unseasonably cool (= NICE!) for the time of year. I prefer Goode Company Barbeque over Rudy's but it's a personal thing. Goode Co has places on Kirby Drive and on the Katy Freeway. Well worth checking out.

In my best Ferris Beuhler voice "shame on you" lol. The day started with a 74 Bolivar Royal Corona, then Rudy's for beef brisket, creamed corn and slaw, all washed down with an IBC rootbeer. Then off to the herf at the Bluenote brewery. First cigar there was a 97 Monte especial, followed by a 90 Davidoff #1. Had a great time meeting some new people and seeing some I had met last year for the first time. Doing (or about to do some work right now) and just lit an 85 Bolivar corona. On a plane home tom. afternoon, but a great time here in SA!
