Ok i want to quit smoking Cigs, But not cigars, At 8 bucks a pack it just to much, Anyone here quit cigs before if so how did you do it? Thanks

My wife did it cold turkey this past yr...it wasnt easy but she chewed gum when ever she had the urge to smoke.

Good for you and trust me I got twenty years on ya and you will thank yourself later. I quit about 8 months ago and it was a bitch, I smoke way to many cigars and the smaller ring gauges I do inhale to much.

DON'T use CHANTIX man that stuff is dangerous I know two other people besides myself who tried it. Two went nuts like me, one it didn't bother him a bit. We can talk at the herf or give me a call if you want to chat, I can't type fast enough to tell it all here.

Well I quit smoking cigs about the same time I started smoking cigars, so that probably helped me out with cravings a little. But my advice would be to treat the addiction like a drug addiction: Come off of it slow. Start by just setting a goal to smoke 15 cigs instead of 20 every day for a week. After that bring it down to 10, 5, then just try to go a day without smoking. Smoking a cigar will definitely make it easier than someone who doesn't smoke them. You just have to tell yourself, "I might think I need one, but really what's gonna happen if I dont have one..." It's all about willpower. Also, if you still are having cravings, the nicotine patches help a lot!!! My friend who smoked over a pack a day started using them, and the first day only smoked about 3 cigs!! Anyways, that's just my advice, and how I quit smoking cigs. Good luck Jesse!!!

I quit cigs early this year and it was fairly easy. My wife got pregnant and had to quit and the price went up by $1 per pack at the same time. I used the lozenges when I needed one. I didn't pick up a cigar until about 4 months later. I would say cigars may help, but they might also just keep you on the nicotine addiction. I would prefer getting off all nicotine for at least 3 months before going back to just cigars.

I quit smoking about a year and a half ago. After many unsuccessful attempts to quit using the cutting back method I just went cold turkey. The first 2 weeks were a real bitch but it eventually got easier. One thing that really helped me out was exercise. I started going to the gym just before quitting which helped as smoking after working out was just not enjoyable.

If you plan on sticking with the cigars I think that should help with the hand to mouth habit of cigarettes which in my opinion is even worse than the nicotine addiction. Since i wasn't introduced to cigars at that time I held a pen in my hand while driving and a straw when drinking. Chewing gum also helps. Hope some of this can help.

I was going to recommend Chantix, it worked great for my wife and I. Apparently there's 2 sides to that drug though.

I smoked cigarettes for 18 years, i quit cold turkey six years ago when my wife told me she was pregnant. I guess what i'm trying to say is, get your girl/wife pregnant and all your problems will be solved
