Well, I finally have the internet hooked up in my new apartment. But more importantly I have a minute to sit down and post for the first time in about 2 weeks. Why? You might ask. The answer is that I just moved 1700 miles from Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Tucson, AZ. I couldn't have picked a better time either. Temperatures in the 100's everyday (which I have to say is not nearly as bad as 95 degree southern heat with 70+% humidity) not to mention giant duststorms which engulf entire vast stretches of desert and cities alike. Unfortunately I have yet to encounter any Gila Monsters. (like REALLY want to see at least one) any scorpions, or any diamondbacks. I did however find myself a nice job at Anthony's Cigar Emporium. So, it looks like things have worked out pretty well moving most of the way across the country. So I guess you folks better watch it... now that I'm close to the west coast the bombs don't have nearly as far to travel.

Good luck at your new job, you should be able to find some great new smokes.

Look for snakes anywhere in the desert around rock piles. They will be there along with road runners, scorpions etc. Good luck in your new locale. I lived there for a short while in the 80s. More of a long visit as it turned out.

CULTURE SHOCK --- Welcome to the desert Southwest. Enjoy the coolness of Spring, it'll get hot soon enough! If you're ever in San Diego for R&R, be sure to give a shout.

Congrats on the move and the new job! I love Tucson - think it's a fun town. I try to get down there every spring to watch my Rockies play some spring ball games. Next time I'll stop in Anthony's and look you up!

Re: New/Old Tucson member

Congrats on a successful move, Ninja!!!

You'll see all the desert life you desire soon enough, they always find their way to you. When I lived out there we had tons of problems with Black Widows, as well as scorpions wandering into the yard and house.

Dry heat or not, soon it will be knocking on 120. And 120 is 120 no matter how you want to justify it...HOT!!!!! You only go out on a hot street, barefoot once to find out what an egg feels like.
