Friday Night Contest
Well,
I've been wanting to do a contest for a while now - and finally came up with something. This one is called - Friday Night Tunes I'd like to do this every week if it turns out to be fun. Here is how it works. Every Friday Night, I will put up some of the lyrics from a song that I was listening to today. I'll post a part of verse. The contest is - What Comes Next. You give me the rest of the verse - never more than one of two lines - and you win. The prize will be - what else - a cigar or several cigars from my Humi - what I smoked on Friday when I was listening to the tune. How many depends on how I feel at the time. If you also know the artist and song title - there might be a bonus. Anyone with a ring gauge over 25 can play. First one to correctly post the answer - wins Ready for the first one: For all the shut-down strangers and hot rod angels Rumbling through this promised land Tonight my baby and me we're gonna ride to the sea What's the next line? Remember to check back often - we'll do this every friday night until I either get tired of it or run out of cigars. Which ever comes first.

Broooozzzz!! I tell you what, I took my normally rather straight-laced wife to see this guy and at one point I thought she was going to take off her underwear and throw it at the stage. P.S. Not an entry, just kibitzing.

Re: Friday Night Contest
Yeah - the first one was easy - and google is what it is.
So, I'll have to work on it a bit - so, we'll see. Anyway, OddBall wins the first one. PM me your address and I'll send out your prize in the morning.

Re: Friday Night Contest
Joed, you should do something that cant easily be googled. Maybe describe some circumstances of the song, like:
"this was so and so's breakthrough song, first performed at xxxxxxx, and he/she wrote the song about their xxxxx". Like Eric Clapton(whom I'm named after) wrote "tears in heaven" for his son that died tragically at a young age, when he fell out a window, I believe (dont quote me on that). That would take a little knowledge on the song/author and would be harder to google. It's also harder for you though...

Re: Friday Night Contest
How about naming three songs and having us guess what they have in common?
