Good luck flying

o NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, sun tan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency.
o Security screening times at airports are likley to be significanlty longer therefore plan appropriatley to include arriving at least two hours in advance.
o Remain aware of your surroundings and report any unusual activity to the nearest authorities.

South Florida this afternoon flying to Chicago for the weekend. Figured not to even bother with carry on just going to check the bags in at the curb. Just hope they leave my new boli pc's alone

Good luck and much safety for all of you that have to travel. Man, for this world to be so beautiful in so many ways the bad really seems to shine much brighter most of the time. It's a damn shame.

Uh... help a dumb ol' boy out, cause I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground about exposives. If you're a terrorist looking to blow up a plane, what's the difference if the shampootoothpastebomb is in the carry-on, or in the cargo hold?

Your guess is as good as mine. This new policy dosn't really seem that well thought out. At this rate they out to just prohibit all carry-on. At least it would drastically shorten wait caused by the security line.

Re: Good luck flying

Looks like this is causing major problems. ABC radio reporters are in major airports and saying that the frequent flyer/first class lines are to the doors. And that is the quick line. The regular passanger lines are almost twice as long. Glad I don't have to fly!

They waved at us and our carry on's at Customs Sat night in Atlanta coming home from Cabo.... ie walk that way and welcome home. Seemed like less than 1% got inspected. I think immigration profiles you and marks the card.

Mine must have said "sunburned smelly fat guy from OH"

I found out about this from a call from my dad this morning. He and my mom are in London on vacation.

Kind of like Mentos and Diet Pepsi. The terrorists need to mix the ingredients together in order to make them go boom. They cannot go to the cargo hold in order to mix them. So this will need to be done in the short term. I am sure it will get better in a few days. People today just did not have time to react.

Anyway, thank you MI6. I guess they must have got suspicious when someone from the UK tried to board a plane carrying toothpaste and mouthwash

In the midst of a very serious situation, that is still funny.

Re: Good luck flying

from what i heard:
they weren't "MIXING" liquids.
they had an explosive liquid that they were going to "activate" with the electronic flash from a "throwaway" camera.

it doesn't take much of a "spark" to ignite an explosive, or much of a static charge, and i'm sure that a throwaway camera's flash has enough electricity to set off that explosive liquid.

Better than being blown up, IMHO.
