Reasons why I'm glad summer is over (venting, thanks for listening)

1.) My 10 year old daughter got lice from some kid that was visiting from out of town and they decided to share a hair brush. 3 weeks later and a couple hundred in hair medication and they were gone.

2.) Rented an oceanfront beachhouse in Newport Beach CA only to discover that it was dirty, almost unfurnished, the electric and plumbing had big problems and both neighbors had REALLY nice places for the same $$.

3.) Best friend and his family who we share vacations, golf, holidays etc with for 10 YEARS moved to Columbus Ohio Sunday and I'm really bummed out.

4.) My dog who we've had for 6 years bit the neighbor kid in the face and gave her 3 stitches and a face that looked like she was hit with a bat, doctor said 1cm closer and she loses an eye and now we have to give him away.

The lice and the beach house I'll get over.....but my buddy and the dog.....it'll be a while

We have a lot of children and the kids got lice and it was hell to deal with, our cat was hung by a neighbor kid and none of our friends still live around us....so we went out and made new friends. One of our kids came home with stitches because another kid hit him with his senior class ring....Dogs do what they do best....sorry about the dog...Be thankful for the blessings and opportunities this brings you to be open and humble and caring. Sympathize with the vent....sorry if it was too long a response. Not trying to tell you how to be or what to do.

what happened with the dog? Are you sure the kid wasn't inticing him/her? Did you investigate? Sorry, but i'm a big dog person and most of the time (I said most of the time) dog's just don't bite for no reason.

Sorry to hear about the others too man.

The 5 year old girl was on one knee petting the dog gently with her face approx 12" from the dog. The dog just snapped, my wife saw the whole thing. My wife loves the dog and can't figure it out either.

Sounds just like a bad vacation.

It happens. Look on the bright side, school is starting and its back to freedom a few hours a day.

Re: Reasons why I'm glad summer is over (venting, thanks for listening)

1. I had to pay 1200 in lawyer fees and airfare to fly out to Boston to go to trial for a worthless Minor in Possession of Alcohol case which ended up getting dismissed without me saying a word. Waste of money.

2. I had to pay 1100 dollars when I stupidly ran a red light while not paying attention and totaled my car and the other one. If I had been going 5 mph slower, he would have T boned me right in the drivers side front door instead of the rear drivers side door, putting me in the hospital for god knows how long.

3. I worked a horrendously boring desk job where I did little to nothing of interest or noteworthy.

4. The summer put an end to any hopes of going back to school and meeting up with a girl I was dating at the end of the semester. She called me a few days ago and told me that she didnt want to have anything to do with me once we got back home.

5. I realized most of my friends from home (this is my first summer back since we all left for college) have changed in ways that I don't necessarily like. I no longer really enjoy hanging out with them.

Yeah, most of my problems are financial, and its only money, so I cant compare to losing a dog and a friend. But #4 really hurt :/

That's why I am glad this summer is over. Hopefully once I get back to school (tomorrow), things will start looking up. ALthough I am on housing and scholarship probation. That will make meeting girls harder (god knows I cant do it sober )
