Sliding screen door troubles.

My sliding screen door is difficult to open. It seems as if the back end of the door is dragging so when I am opening the door it makes it harder to slide. It is easy to close though. Anyone have any experience with these types of doors? Is it just a lube issue?

Thanks!

Erik

Re: Sliding screen door troubles.

Probably a wheel adjustment or replacement is in order.

Re: Sliding screen door troubles.

I have problems with screen doors too, Usually because they are in my way when walking through them.

Re: Sliding screen door troubles.

There are several things that could be wrong:

Dirt on track
Wheel off track
Bad wheel as in broken, bent or worn out
Wheel needs adjustment - there are several types: most common has a screw right above the wheel in the frame. Second most common is a screw on the end. Look for those.
Rubber weather stripping hanging on track or frame

Has Commander Quan been to your house? If so check for a bent frame -

If it is in fact a bad wheel and you can't find a replacement locally - try these guys - they have everything:
