Party Pete in Baghdad
Well guys and gals I finally made it to Baghdad and I just got computer access. I am glad to say it is better than I expected even though it is not easy. Many of the other bases have it better (much actually) but I am not complaining. It may sound wierd but I am really enjoying it in astrange sort of way. I can not say much about what I am doing but it is a joint mission comprised mostly of Army but some Air Force and Navy sprinkled in for flavor. The food is way better than expected, the billets are decent, but the work is less than marginal. I'd rater be attached to a med unit, but this is where I am needed so I'll do my best at it. Thanks go out to Anita and frank for the exchance of e-mail traffic so I could stay in touch if I did not get access. Well this is long enough and I have some work to do.


P.S. I still have not found the Baghdad Hard Rock Cafe

Tony, we're so glad you're there and safe.. just stay that way!! We'll be praying for you and all the other soldiers over there. I know you weren't able to take many smokes with you and if you can let us know what kind of storage you can come up with, I'm sure the jungle will keep you and anyone you can share with supplied with cigars to smoke. I know that Frank and I are in. I have your address so as soon as we know what you have available for storage, we'll get some stuff in the mail to you.
