*dons flameproof suit* lol
I am guilty as charged. I do think that this will settle down after a week or so. I just remember that I didn't have enough credits to really play last time and don't want to miss out this time. No flame suit required Paul.

I agree, I almost started this here...agree about the moving that is...I seem to recall the old credits...everybody always said it'll calm down...but it never did.
Supposedly there supposed to be penalties now...be interested to see if any been given

Re: Was credits the right thing?

I'm a postwhore on the only other forum I visit but tend to restrict myself here if I don't have anything useful to say. Of course, I haven't really been here much as of late either.

Re: Was credits the right thing?

It's bound to be stupid for a while. I believe maybe I'll go on a ring gauge binge & bump ppl like Almeter & mr c for "not" whoring it up.

If it get's too crazy we will figure a way to discourage the post whores......perhaps some sort of posted "no littering" sign.....

Somebody bump joe (mr c) for me would ya?

Re: Was credits the right thing?

Scottish, you know you're my buddy and I think you are one hell of a FOG around here.... so don't flame me too hard

I think the credits are a good thing. Sure we're gonna get some people whoring it up like never before but I've already seen some CSBux deducted already and I know that after a little while if the whoring thing continues that Gorilla will get a nice stern warning to tone it the F*** down (kinda like I did in the beginning).

However what it adds to this site is a little more fun and frivolity and a better sense of the word community. Things like the CUT wars and messing with other Gorilla's Pics and Information brings us closer together by being able to laugh and joke with one another. Hell we do plenty of that anyway but this just gives us another avenue to do it. I guess it just brings more of a sense of comradery to CS and that's always a good thing.

Plus it adds some fun and distracting things for when you've read too many "Cello On or Off" threads. The arcade is back and better than ever and I know plenty of people, including Anita, really appreciate that.

So I guess, no the return of the credits is definitely not a bad thing as the positive's outweight the initial rush to post whore.

I also agree that the bux add value and fun to CS. While there has been some postwhoring going on Im glad that a longer more thought out statement is awarded more points. I hope this curbs the post whoring also.

I share your concern and perspective. I suppose it depends on your view of CS. I agree that it could be fun and build a sense of community of sorts. And I'll reserve judgement...

But my concern would be that it will drive some of the behavior that I find less attractive on CS. That is just my opinion and it's in alignment with some of the other posts I've made regarding how pursuit of rewards and status in any given community -- virtual or otherwise -- can influence behavior -- and not always for the better. But the decision has been made and I respect that. Good and bad in most choices in life.

Re: Was credits the right thing?

I'm not really a fan as well. I would feel bad for someone who comes on, reads the posts and maybe decides to post once or twice a day when they feel it is warranted, to have the stuff they put time and effort into choosing changed and not be able to do anything about it.

There is no way someone like this can compete with people who post in almost every thread.

How does this make us closer as a community?

just my

almost time to donate my CS bux again.
