Ahgg..Someone Jacked My CC/ATM #

I caught it before I was taken for a lot...Bastards made two orders this morning...One co. already refunded the $$...But I Had to cancell my ATM which is a Major inconvience for me..

Just wanted to vent..

And I have no idea how the jacked my # and code

Did you make a purchase online recently? Could have been from a store as well.

My parents were telling me that in my old hometown (bellevue, WA) there was a gang of people that were stealing credit card numbers from people who had bought stuff from different stores they worked in. One of them happened to be a cigar/tobacco shop, luckily my dad forgot it existed and didn't take me there when I was home as they got busted shortly after I left.

At least you caught it early and your bank was cool about it. It could have been a lot worse, I can only imagine the pain of getting stuff taken off of your credit report.

The local gas station in town had a guy skimming cards and our local credit union had to reissue 700 or 800 ATM cards that while not compromised had been used at that location during the time the guy was skimming numbers.

My Visa as was a friends in town was also hacked, no idea how many cards they had to replace.

Sadly even if caught these guys get a slap on the wrist so there's no real deterent.

My wife got her whole wallet and checkbook jacked right from her desk in her office in downtown Cleveland. The con is the guy says hes there to look at the carpeting for a repair quote and when she was away from her desk opened the purse and took her wallet and checkbook but left everything else. Neatly closed the purse so she wouldnt notice. By the time she freaked out called me to ask advice (im in finance),call the police,called credit card companies, they had made hundreds in purchases at drugstores and gas stations in town. Luckily it was all reimbursed. Scumbags make a living off of this while the rest of us work everyday. Everything willturn out ok man. Just remember to put a fraud alert on your credit report. Had to change mine once thanks to Nextel. Some idiot who worked there used my CC to purchase a radiator for his car. Long story short, I don't have Nextel any longer

I lost my wallet once...had my ATM card in it...luckily I reported it in time, but its a scary feeling.

Yeah...Im glad I checked my account this morning and noticed the charges. The bank was really good and cancelled over the phone. One company has refunded the cash already. I got lucky they didnt hit me for more.

Is it worth the effort of filling out a Police Report? It was around $60 they hit me for before I closed the card down...
