Someone Stole My Credit Card Numbers !!!

Be careful guys.

Someone just charged my credit card in Canada for $1900.00 three times for a total of $5700.00. I wouldnt even have caught it this quick if I didnt check my account on a daily basis. The best is this was for cosmetics. Thats a lot of make-up and soaps.

I dont even use my card much. All my vendors have my numbers and I do everything over the phone. I never let the card out of my site or charge on line ever.

Just a heads up guys. Lots of fraud out there. This one was caught real quick and in time.

Beware and always check your accounts regularly.

glad u cought it in time. that happen to me years ago. had to get the credit protection on it.

Got lucky that it was caught quickly... Discover called me a few times when I made some large purchases that seemed out of line...

I had the same thing happen last year. Luckily I got it all back but it did take some paperwork and a bit of aggravation.

No Richard, I did not buy cosmetics, the strip club I went to in Montreal Last night comes through as cosmetics on the credit cards so wives don't get suspicious. That charge really was for 30 bottles of champagne in the VIP room.

Yea that happened to me once. I got a phone call from a very official sounding man asking if "Mr Colomba was home" and of course I replied "Yea I'm here". He then asks "Ok, then you arn't in Croatia?" "Um, No. Why?" Apperently my numbers were stolen and because the charge was a big number something like $1,200 and in a foreign country they called me first before authorizing it. Lucky for me I didn't lose any money in the exchange but I was pretty surprised. I'm glad everything worked out for you.

Same thing happened to me once too. Somehow, someone got ahold of my number and charged away. My CC company called me and I verified the charges were fraud. Who do I know who is going to buy 10 boxes of cigars from Switzerland? I don't even smoke...

No, seriously, this did happen and I hope Chase was able track these bastards down! Luckily, I did not have to pay for their criminal activity.

same thing happened to my parents a year or so ago.... someone got their numbers and purchased like $4,000 in software. It's no fun at all.

I've had my credit card company call me three times because of "suspicious" purchases on my card. The first one, I bought two XBOXes (back in 2001 when they came out) -- one for me, and one for a friend. So they see a $700 charge for electronics around Christmas time and starte wondering. I was happy they called, I didn't even know they had fraud detection stuff running.

Called me twice since then -- one of them I was at a gas pump just getting ready to put my card in. I wonder how long it would have taken for them to shut down the card if I'd not answered the phone. Might not have been able to get any gas. :P
