North Korea and the "Bomb"
This morning I heard on the radio that Korea did in fact set off a nuke, a small one but a nuke just the same.
Many people seem to be focused on N. Korea's recent missle tests and take for granted that they would use these missles to deliver a nuke. I for one do not believe that N. Korea would be so stupid as to launch a nuke tipped missile as it would be easy to trace where it came from and would result in instant retaliation. Keep in mind that this bomb was so small that it took weeks to know for sure that it was indeed a nuke. How big of an explosion would a suitcase nuke make??? How hard would it be to track down the origination of a suitcase nuke that takes out lets say Wallstreet. With a suitcase nuke, North Korea could destroy a target in the USA and it would be very hard to prove where it came from. Some will say that small nukes are hard to make and my answer to them is, yes, it is very hard to make them, but, if you remember back in the mid 90s, we gave that technology away. When Jimmy Carter came back from North Korea, Jimmy, Madeline Albright and Bill Clinton gave nuke technology to North Korea to appease North Korea's sabre rattling. Around this same period of time Clinton also gave mini nuke technology to China as well as missile technology that overnight improved their launch success from a near 80% failure rate to over 90% success rate. Keep this in mind, Clinton did this while China was threatening to blow California off the map if we interfered over Taiwan. No wonder the Chinese Military gave so much money to the Clinton campaign. They got caught and Clinton had to give the money back. China is not our friend and if somehow we were no longer a SuperPower or were gravely wounded it would make China that much stronger and even more of a threat. It is no secret that China and North Korea have been friends for decades and would not suprise me if China gave mini nuke technology or for that matter, mini nukes themselves to North Korea. It would be a win win for China. North Korea tests the mini nukes for China and China condemns the tests while winking at North Korea. It is so very sad that we have so many in power that feel the best thing we can do is appease our enemies when history shows that time after time it only puts us in greater danger. You couldn't appease Hitler and you will never appease terrorists. I also find it ironic that the communities in this country, that have the highest concentration of people, willing to do anything in their power, to make it harder to keep people safe, both in this country and around the world, are themselves the people at greatest risk. If a suitcase bomb goes off, it won't be in some tiny town in North Dakota, it will be in a place like New York, San Francisco, Seattle or LA. If it happens, mark my words, these same people that try to make it impossible to keep the country safe will then be pointing fingers of blame at those that tried to save them from themselves. Well thats just my I think I'll step down now Have a great week everybody. Ken

Re: North Korea and the "Bomb"
IMHO, I think NK and Iran would possibly use the option of an EMP attack. Here are my earlier posts on the theory:

Nope it was just bouncing of the pin like when I drive faster than 115 in my Dodge. I was more concerned with them than Iraq in the time between the two invasions and I am very surprised at how long it took for him to "show his a$$" as they say. This will not develop well unless USSR (I mean Russia), France, and China back us. Yeah that'll happen. T

Re: North Korea and the "Bomb"
Just because the nuke had a small yield, does not mean it wasn't the size of a semi. I don't think they've got the technology to pull off anything grand yet.
Yeah, they could obliterate a city or two, but Just one of our warheads is enough to obliterate half of N. Korea. Hiroshima and Nagasaki times 100. If they did launch, it would be killing themselves. Bunkers are now useless because of the bunker busters we now employ as well. With our troops deployed in Afghanistan and iraq, we'd have no choice but to rely on surgical air strikes and the occasional nuke if need be. Not a problem I'm sure. I'm glad bush is in office, finally someone with the balls deal with the wackos. break out the trident missles!

Re: North Korea and the "Bomb"
the thing that scares me is that the North Koreans may think of nukes a first strike weapon. unfortunatly the amount of BS the Us Would Go through deciding weather or not to launch would in theory allow nations aligned with NK to Launch thiers. And would we Launch ours with out direct threat to the united states? It brings up interesting questions thats for sure. Ill be interested in developments of it. And if you cant blame the Failures of the clinton administartion on clinton. you cant blame Bush for the Failues of the Bush administration.
