I am an old Porsche guy also. My last was a (blk/blk) 928 which I loved. Porsches are expensive to work on and expensive parts. I say this if you are just tired of the VW and it is a fair trade and this is just a "hobby car" and you have the full understanding about cost then go for it. This website will give you some ideas about part cost. Keep in mind that parts at dealers are much more expensive alot of times than what you see on the net. I am saying this because if you cant fix it yourself then expect to pay a premium for parts and labor. Mechanics will not usually alow "outside" patrts to be used. Labor rates for Porsche is somewhere around $70.00 to over $100.00 per hour this is depending on your area. Good luck, RJT
