Re: NFL Teams
I guess if I had to choose, it would be either the Saints or the Patriots...not b/c I like the team overall but b/c of the number of UGA Bulldogs on each team. Honestly, I cut the grass and take a nap on Sunday afternoon since the real action takes place between the hedges on Saturday afternoons in Athens! Go Dawgs!

Aren't you glad that Eli didn't stay with the Chargers? If he's anything like Peyton, San Diego would have started to look challenging.

Re: NFL Teams
Linus - that makes two QBs the Chargers have passed on (Vick and Eli). But Rivers may be pretty good, although he will have his growing pains.

Re: NFL Teams
The Chargers need a whole lot more than a new QB. Damn near the entire team, from management down, needs to be replace IMHO. Even if they had taken Manning, they wouldn't have the line to protect him. I can't even remember the last time the chargers were even close to going to the playoffs. They need to destroy and rebuild, that's their only hope of success.

Re: NFL Teams
yep, chargers would NOT have scared anyone with eli manning.
name their WRs? anyone.... anyone.... ?? kevin dyson and who? reche caldwell, quaseem osgood??? who?? how about that OL? they signed a guy in the offseason, and get another back healthy... wow, i'm impressed. now on to their defense... no, seriously, they do have a defense, no joke. D-line... who? nobody worth a damn on the front 3. LBs... d. edwards, who gets lots of tackles, albeit 7 yards downfield while being dragged... 82 yr old r. godfrey alongside him, and who at the 2 OLBs? now, their secondary, i like. jammer, davis, kiel, lassiter, very nice. 3 very young productive players and a proven vet who's moving back to his normal position with the emergence of last years rookie pick (and shooting victim) terrance kiel. i'm not scared of the SD chargers, no matter WHAT manning is QB. why? check the coaching staff, namely the head coach. marty schottenheimer sucks. mr. conservative sucks old wrinkled balls. (and i mean that in a nice way) --------------------------------------------------------- KC has bad coaching?? i must've missed something there. Vermiel, bad? highly regarded HC Al Saunders, O-Coord - turned down HC jobs 2 yrs in a row now. past WR coach under Don Coryell in SD with fouts, muncie, winslow, joyner, etc, etc. went on to be their HC for a few years. installed the coryell offense in STL (not m. martz - notice the decline in play once saunders left to go back to KC?). Gunthar Cunningham, D-coord - regarded as one of the best D-coord's in the game for how long? damn good judge of talent, gets his players in position to use their strengths, not force players to play a way they aren't good at (something Greg Robinson sucked at). STs coach didn't change, and i recall them being pretty damn good in returns and coverage. sure, KC didn't add much to D in the draft, but i do recall that the majority of the Def players were either here when gunthar was here (drafted/signed by him), or he wanted some of these players when he was with KC and Ten. back when V. Holliday was drafted by GB, he wanted him for KC. now he has him. a recent comment by Holliday during one of the camps, all wide-eyed, "you mean i only have to beat him?!" referring to the 1 guy he'll line up across, unlike previous schemes he's played in where he lined head up on the OT (inside the TE, facing double teams). 2nd year CB from Ten, julian battle, was someone Gunthar wanted for the Titans last year, but KC took him right before they did. who else is there that he knows well? e. hicks - had 14.5 sacks under a gunthar led defense before. will finally be able to play rush end again, instead of stack end (head up over, or even inside, the OT), and not dropping back into coverage to cover WRs like he had to do under last years D-coord (why have your best pass rusher drop back??) Browning - still the starting DT next to Ryan Sims (Sims will finally slide over to his NORMAL position, he's not a NT, which is where Robinson had him playing - he's too light). Maslowski - the KC def took a nosedive after this kid got hurt at MLB. Warfield - i personally can't stand, but how can you cover someone when your past D-coord wanted you to play 10 yards off the line?? of course the WRs gonna be wide open all the time. Bartee - i don't like him either, but he started when Gunthar was here, lacks confidence. i felt they shoul'dve let him walk and signed a draft pick this year (they passed on enough of them). Wesley - draft pick of gunthars, very hard hitting S, underrated. Woods - went to the pro-bowl last year after a broken leg in '02. drafted by gunthar, loved playing for him. so, you will see a major difference in KCs defense next year compared to the past 3 years. yes, SCHEME can make a huge difference. why do so many teams make a big turnaround when they switch D-coordinators? check ray rhodes, lewis, lovie smith, dungy, edwards, belicheck, etc, etc, etc. you gotta put your players in position to make plays to the best of their abilities. greg robinson failed to realise this in KC for 3 years. using a past double digit sacker as a stack end (he's a speed rusher) and sometimes dropping back into coverage??? what worries me is the lack of hands KC has at WR. kennison/morton dropped 4 passes in the playoff loss. boerigter dropped a wide open TD passon their first drive... it wasn't the defense that lost the game, it was the dropped passes. what was the difference in that game?? colts caught their passes. they didnt' stop KC either, but they caught their passes. recap: boerigter dropped TD pass, results in a FG (-4 points) morton dropped wide open 3rd down pass on the colts 8, results in a missed FG (could've been an easy TD inside the 10, with less than 2 min in the 1st half, a swing of anywhere from -3 to -7 points). there were many other drops in that game, they finished 2nd in the nfl in drops last season. that was a swing of at LEAST -7 points, and could've been -11 points, enough to win (or tie) the game. can you guys tell this is about all i do all year long? if you all are interested in playing fantasy football all year long, let me know. i play in total dynasty leagues that go on all year, non-stop. 53 man active rosters, 5 man practice squads, etc. it's as close to being a GM as any other fantasy league on the 'net. i could go on, but i'm tired from typing so much already.
