I'm not. I'm saying "Don't believe everything you see/read" - whether its Moore's, yours, mine or anyones. Research an item if it doesn't ring true, and quote your sources. If everyone did this, there would be no lies or misunderstandings.

Also keep in mind that most facts can be skewed to the writer's/reader's opinion. (For example, when you say a glass is half-empty or half-full, that is opinion. When you say the glass is at 50% capacity, that is fact. The glass doesn't change.)

So would it be safe to say the the amount of truth in his documentary is at >50% capacity?

LIke you, I think he has the right to say whatever the heck he wants, (kinda like Mel Gibson doing the passion), but when you start advertizing it as "this is what really happened" you're skating on thin ice. Especially when there are enough gullible americans who don't do research like you suggest!

Twisting the facts to skew to your view is a trick that the media has been using since day one. But back in the old days, I don't think (opinion here) that the media was as pursasive as it is today. What is your view on that?

Amen to that. I subscribe to the theory "believe none of what you read, and only half of what you see". I don't think I trust anyone 100%. Everybody has their own agenda.

I'm going to see this movie this week, from all I've heard it is great. Facts are out there all over the net, they have been checked, counter checked, double counter checked then again rechecked, I don't give a hoot, I'm not out to help either political party, I'm out there to see something completely different in the Theater.

I sat through Pauly Shore in BioDome for 90+ minutes, trust me, Fahrenheit 911 will be easy to watch. I'm either an idiot or a patriot, because apparently there is nothing else.

I have not seen the movie, but what I gather is that about 75% is truth, and 25% is either clever editing or out of context. Either way, it gives everyone something to think about.

The media is definitely more pervasive, but it is also more persuasive. In the past, you only had 3 TV stations, one newspaper per major city, and very few political pundits. Today... well, you know... with Internet, cable, USAToday, thousands of magazines and radio stations, and a political voice for every niche group...we get bombarded by every possible opinion.

Overall public opinion is usually correct, and I think there is enough dissent out there over what Bush has/has not done, that people are ready for a change.

I think the US is overdue for another revolution. My guess is it will be the religious groups versus the corporate powers, with large minorities (black, hispanic) thrown in.

Again, agreed. Moore rants against companies moving jobs out of the country but has his entire website designed, maintained and hosted out of country. Doesn't the Hollywood left make movies out of the US to avoid the high costs (called outsourcing in some quarters)? Doesn't that make them Benedict Arnolds under Kerry's definition?

Moore is being sued by a little Newspaper in Downstate Illinois because he changed their headline for his movie, one they never printed. Blatant deception which makes the rest of it suspect. I mean, if someone lies to you once, what's your inclination when they tell you other things? I tend not to believe them without backup.

I think that there is going to be a huge shift in the direction of being more conservative. The majority of people are fed up in the direction of moral perversion that the country is heading and so far the democrats have on applauded and pushed extremely hard for more perversion.

Abortion should be a last resort, not a norm because you don't protect yourself and don't want to take responsibility for your actions.

You shouldn't be allowed to marry anyone you want to just because you love them and care for them. Should two brothers marry? How about a brother and a sister? They could love each other and feel for each other the exact same way that to gay guys would. (don't bring up incest because scientists now say there is little if any danger of birth defects. There are legal roads gay and lesbian couples can go down and get the exact same rights as a married couple, it just isn't as automatic as marrige.

Some people don't want things cloned or stem cell research, so their federal tax money shouldn't have to go to programs like these, if you want stem cell research, fund it with your own money. Stem cell research is not banned, just federal funds to it.

The people are tired of activist judges imposing their will against the will of the people, especially when they were never elected. In California when the people voted bay a 3 to 2 margin to stop illegal immigrants from getting certain services, activist judges rule against the will of the people and turned it down.
