Prince????

Just curious what the reasoning was for having Prince do the halftime show. Granted, he is one helluva guitar player, but it still wasn't what I thought would be Super Bowl quality.

My 10 yr neice and I went downstairs for a vicious game of air-hocky.

She said: "yuk, I can't believe they want to watch that Prince guy"
I said: "Yeah, I can't believe I liked his movie."
She said: "they let him make a movie."
I said: "they're not all as smart as you."

Score was 9-5 me.

WOW...I've got to disagree with both of you....I thought it was agreat performance and far better that the past debacles......maybe you preferred the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake show....or maybe the Blues Brothers show...how about the Aerosmith/NSYC get together.

Are we talking about the same prince? About 5'9, dark complected, does horrible covers of any song given. I really dont give much credit to the halftime shows, as you stated there are not many that psyched me. I was rather amused by the fact that he was able to get away with "strocking" his guitar behind the curtain.

It sucked...he covered the Foo Fighters...how lame. Should have just gotten the Foo Fighters to play the the show...would have been so much better. I can think of so many bands I'd rather see then Price...it might have been a good show in 1989 but not 2007.

not good? he is one of the most talented guitarists out there....and granted he can be a bit "odd" you cannot deny that he can play and is a good performer

I agree. He is good. But definately not Superbowl material. There are so many other people who could have done this show.

I didn't watch it because of him. I though it was below par for the 1/2 time shows I have seen in the past. He was a trooper to sing through the rain though.

he is a hell of a guitarists but i just not into his music. So that is why i could take or leave the halftime show. I have not been into the halftime shows for the past few years. I say get a current popular singer to do it.

ya know, when I was watching his silhouette part of the show last night, I was a little amused to see his guitar certainly looked like a certain parts of the male body. I thought it was my imagination until I heard it mentioned on a talk radio show this morning. Wonder what the FCC will think about this once it becomes a stink,

tenty-billion dollars is my final offer!!

I liked it, I think Prince is one of the better guitar players out there even if his recent (the last 15 years!) music is not really my taste. I certainly think it was better than having Janet Jackson, or ANY country western singer for that matter.

I do agree the Foo Fighters would be awesome for the SB...maybe next year? (Oops, that phrase fits in a couple ways for us Bears fans...)
