latest project finished (big images)
My beater Seiko got a nasty scratch on the crystal, so I decided to replace the crystal with a sapphire crystal. Then I stubbed my toe on a pebble and slid down a long, steep slope called "watch modding". Getting the new crystal in and not bending the crap out of the hands was the hard part. Nice work, i'm impressed. I would be a little scared to do that to mine. I love Seikos.
Here is a photo of my latest, straight from Japan. |

Yeah, you paid a little more for your tuna can than I did for my diver. That monster is on my to-get list. Nice watch.

Re: latest project finished (big images)
I got an old Luminox Navy Seal dive watch I "modified" by throwing it across a room and stomping on it.
I replaced the face with air and then lost the second hand when it fell or broke off. I sent it in to be repaired 5 years ago. I say sent in, when I really mean it's in the original case with receipt.. in my car's console. I'm a bit of a procrastinator.

Re: latest project finished (big images)
It wasn't difficult once you embrace the fact that you are about to ruin a perfectly good watch.
Go to http://www.mkiiwatches.com/ and you can see the dials and hands he has available. There is also a DYI section that has some info on doing the mods. There are a couple of tools I wish I would have known about before I started. And the crystal was definitely the hardest part, so I would only replace that if it needs replacing. PM me if you're serious and I'll give you a full run down on tools and techniques.
