My beater Seiko got a nasty scratch on the crystal, so I decided to replace the crystal with a sapphire crystal. Then I stubbed my toe on a pebble and slid down a long, steep slope called "watch modding". Getting the new crystal in and not bending the crap out of the hands was the hard part. How did you learn how to do this? Did you just figure it out, or is there an online resource. Maybe I don't want to know, as it could lead to another slope that I will spend all my money on.

I got an old Luminox Navy Seal dive watch I "modified" by throwing it across a room and stomping on it.

I replaced the face with air and then lost the second hand when it fell or broke off.

I sent it in to be repaired 5 years ago. I say sent in, when I really mean it's in the original case with receipt.. in my car's console.

I'm a bit of a procrastinator.

It wasn't difficult once you embrace the fact that you are about to ruin a perfectly good watch.
Go to http://www.mkiiwatches.com/ and you can see the dials and hands he has available. There is also a DYI section that has some info on doing the mods.

There are a couple of tools I wish I would have known about before I started. And the crystal was definitely the hardest part, so I would only replace that if it needs replacing. PM me if you're serious and I'll give you a full run down on tools and techniques.
