So my Latop Battery is part of the recall
I don't think I can live without using my laptop for a month
 What will I do on my commute? 2 hrs each way on the train with no laptop for a month would be torture... too bad there's no smoking car I think I will probably just keep using it and hope for no explosions or fires... Dell!! Sony!!

are you talking Mac? If so-they send you the replacement first and then you put the old one in the same box and send it back...no down time...in fact, you have to run the old battery down in order to mail it and then charge up the new one(which doesn't take long)

That's how it worked for me, too (with my PowerBook). Is Dell really making you send it back to them *first*?!?!? I'd get on the phone and try to work out something different if that's the case. When dealing with a *recall* there should be as little impact on the consumer as possible, IMHO.

Dell sucks! I had a dell laptop and it was a lemon and they wouldn't fix it. I wouldn't have a dell if they were giving them away at the corner market

It's a dell. They are sending me the new battery first and I am sending mine back after looks like, so all is not lost. Unless of course it explodes in my lap on the train...
