Holiday? There's a Holiday?? AAAGGHHH....

So, what are folks doing for Thanksgiving (at least those gorillas who are living in the States)?

Home? travel? lots of people? just immediate family? of course, what will you be smoking after that big dinner...?

We're just keeping it small. Just us and mom and a 20 pound bird. I, unfortunately, will not be able to smoke at all this weekend. NOT FAIR!

I have a thundering herd descending upon my place.

Translation: Eight relatives are coming over for dinner.

Plans for after dinner: Drink heavily and smoke cigars.

CL,

You've got to take the time and sit down to a good smoke!!
After all it is the holidays and it is the time for it!!

I know that family commitments are important but so is commiting to you.

As for me, I'm heading to Baltimore for Thanksgiving. Really looking forward to herfing with some of the ol' gang on Friday night. My after Turkey smoke will be a Cuaba Solomone, and then for an aparetif an H. Upmann Petit. Mmm.

In the plans is possibly a short day trip to NYC to do a little herfing there as well -- that's still being put together.

Going camping at the San Clemente state campground. I'm going to rotisserie a turkey over a charcoal grill and have the dinner pilgrim style at our campsite. Should be pretty cool!

That sounds like a good time!! Have you camped at San Clemente at this time of year before? Whats the weather like in Nov? Probably won't be much cooler than when we camp at San Onofre in June (June Gloom).

Just family and way too much food! I'm going to smoke a Quai Dorsay Imperial that I recently acquired from a very generous Gorilla! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Tent! Should get pretty chilly at night. I think it will be in the low 40's but up in the mid 60's during the day. It's funny, my family is in transition from up in way northern california to down in so. cal and a campsite is the only place where we can all fit! I love being around close family on Thanksgiving.

It's not so bad. Most of the adults are OK folks. Its all the yelling, screaming, obnoxious kids that drive me crazy. Other peoples kids too.

Re: Holiday? There's a Holiday?? AAAGGHHH....

I'll be heading up to Annapolis on Wed to the in-laws house. On turkey day my wife and I are heading over to my unlce's place to meet up with the rest of my family (dinner at 2)

Then we will be heading back down to Annapolis to eat again with her family at 6 or 7...this is where is gets hairy. This house will be packed with family, my sister-in-laws two labs and our new puppy, small children and my 4 month old neice.

Once I come out of my turkey coma I will need some alone time with something in the Churchill or Double Corona size to get me through the rest of the night....that and a little Jack and Ginger.

Hey Silvrbck,

If you see a group of folks firing skyrockets at your tent & laughing the closer they come to actually making contact....

Re: Holiday? There's a Holiday?? AAAGGHHH....

Good old family get together (about 25) and some good southern food!
For thosewho remember I just returned home from the National Fire Acadmey in Emmitsbury, MD and their attempt at southern food was appreciated but it just didn't quite make it. So I am glad to be home and able to celebrate with my friends and family.
