I go through a can of cope every week or two. Local place had some general snus so I picked some up to try. So far it smells and tastes good. Not the most powerful thing around though.

Yep , that is a head rush! My great grandmother chewed tobacco and dipped snuff...had a coffee can or some type of can by her chair all her beloved life! She was one of the greatest women I knew as a kid! No teeth but the biggest chaw ...you ever saw!! Kudo's Grandma wherever you are!!!

I'm not sure how it is for everyone else, but for me there are certain triggers that make me wanna dip. If those triggers aren't present I'm fine without it. I usually do it when I get in my truck on the way home from school or when I'm studying. Lately i've found when ever I get on the xbox360 or a PC game that I throw one in. Anyone else like me?
Quit while you can man. Ive been a can + a day for years (Copenhagen), and most of the time I can barely taste it and I haven't had a buzz off it in years. Just went into the doc's last week...I had leaned back in my truck waiting for the kids to get ready for practice, and all of a sudden it felt like there was a golf ball in my throat. I couldn't swallow without a lot of pain. Turns out everythings OK, but it gave me a little wake up call. And damn is this quitting thing hard (I type this with Spaten bottle of spit in front of me).

I think it's time to switch to the gum...I turn into a raging MFer without my Cope....to the point that I had to take a drive (and a dip) to cool off because there were too many people in the parking lot last week.

They have the snus stuff at our local cigar store near me. I also saw it at Serious when I was down there two weeks ago.

I'm an evil person when I don't dip. My last unsuccessful attempt at stopping took place when the rest of the family went on vacation.

I started back, which sucks, but even today.. I got home from work, was here about 35 minutes, and I had to drive all the way back into town to get a can of dip.. and I was pissed off the whole way there, and the whole way back, until I just put a dip in and poured a Glenlivet.

This is an old post, but I got to the point where I could eat and dip at the same time while I was in Iraq, and I've been able to swallow it since I was 19. I really need to quit, but it's damned hard.. the longest I've gone has been 7 months. And then I had a few drinks.. and a buddy was dipping and just like that.. I was hooked again.

Re: Snus/dip users?

KingJames, I'm just like you, if I'm at home playing WoW I'll always be packing a lip. Most of the time I take one out and put another right back in.

Foz, if General does nothing for you try some Skruf Stark or Nick & Johnny. I haven't had had a buzz in a long long time but I would get nicotine headaches from Skruf and that's the only thing that I ever got them from.

Right now I'm hooked on Roda Lacket. I just ordered a roll of it and the steel Icetool.

Re: Snus/dip users?

I chewed Copeenhagen for 3 years then I started to worry about my lip so I discovered cigars. I will occasionally have a dip when I drink though.

Re: Snus/dip users?

I tried an american marketed snus called triumph and then ordered some of the traditional stuff from northerner.com. There is no comparision between them. Snus is great stuff. Almost zero health risks. Have a pris of skruf stark lös in right now.
Check out snuson.com , great snus forum, has a section on health risks (about the same or less as ice cream) and info on vendors and usage tips.

Re: Snus/dip users?

I agree. I use stark portions all the time and will never go back to US dip.

There is quite a bit of nicotene in snus and it is addictive. The chemicals that cause cancer in dip arent in swedish snus because its pasteurized and processed according to swedish pure food laws. There is alot of good snus/health info at snuson.com, check it out.

Dude, its about as addictive as anything with nicotene in it. Nicotene is an addictive drug. Smoked lately? Dipped lately? Had some snuff recently?
