Probrably shooting myself in the foot but here it goes

I have not had the too much time as of late to surf and participate on CS as much as I normally like. To say life has been crazy lately is a total understatement. The few times I do get to log on these past few weeks I feel like there has been an over abundance of "I got another set of bananas" posts lately. Now I am fully prepared to take a beating on my almost non existant RG but can anyone else do without the repetitive I got a set of nanners posts? I know I know, it's exciting to see something that shows you how active you have been but the last few weeks it seems like there have been a bunch(No pun intended) of these threads. Maybe its just the stress getting to me or CS withdrawels. OK, let me go put on my flame retardant suit and lets see if I don't surpass UK Cigar Mans RG level.

My only suggestion would be to stick to key areas of interest on the forums.

I browse 3-4 Sub Forums to keep from getting overloaded with too many new posts, you might want to consider the same.

I totally agree with you. While we all enjoy CS and posting. I just think that many of the people(not all) who are averaging 17+ Posts a day are probably not really adding anything of substance to the site. I for one would like to see more content and less fluff.

Hmm, I'm an offending party, but I'll plead the lemming defense: I only posted such an entry because I saw others doing the same.

This is what I normally do. I usually stick to the All Cigar Lounge, Cigar Questions and Pass and Bombs section when time is tight. Like I mentioned, I was not looking for a positive response from this thread just was venting I guess. I know when people reach a new RG mile marker it's usually posted in the "Off Topic" forum which seems appropriate and I think reaching higher RG levels is more of an event and more worthy of a thread than racking up threads. Just my opinion. Did I mention I going through withdrawels????

How much does the "end zone dance" really add to the game? Although entertaining at times it usually doesn't effect the outcome.

Which foot did you hit? LOL!

Seriously, I can't say that I disagree with your comments, however, the board is open for almost any kind of post, as long as it's not offensive. If a person wishes to celebrate more Bananas, so be it. You have the option of simply ignoring any thread and/or post that your not interested in!

Just my humble

Re: Probrably shooting myself in the foot but here it goes

I usually ignore the "check out my new nanners" - the "help! My humi isn't working" - "a quick question about beads" - and similar topics where answers abound by clicking on that little link that reads "search." Oh, also the "It's your fault CS (for my cigar addiction)" and the "damn you devil site" don't get many page views from me.
Wow, for a new guy I'm jaded.

Re: Probrably shooting myself in the foot but here it goes

It seems as though as the noobies increase exponentially this has gotten worse. I don't mind it for the first set of bananas and I definitely don't mind RG milestone threads, although some members seem to pass those every week (maybe they should have continuously running threads *cough*Klugs, Hog, BWave*cough* .

I don't know what I am getting at here other than to say I don't mind it that much at all, because well...I just don't mind it.

And RG, ok now I will go run and hide.

If I see a thread like that I simply ignore it usually. It's much easier to ignore it than stop it from happening.

Re: Probably shooting myself in the foot but here it goes

Considering all it takes to amass bananas and ring gauge is to live a long time, post a lot and not tick anyone off, it really isn't worth getting too excited about, IMO.

What is worth getting excited about is the quality of good people on this forum and the obvious, to me, lack of constant, 4th grade, potty humor found on some groups. There is a heck of a lot of good cigar content and the off-topic area has a lot of interesting reading which I enjoy. This is a great group full of interesting people and threads of no interest can be easily skipped over. I really like the ability to go to "first unread".

On edit: Hey, I just noticed I got my first bananas. Whoo, Whoo. (Just a little subtle humor, there.)
