Hangover Cures

I've always drank lots of water before going to sleep(unless I pass out, but that hasn't happened for a very long time) and when I get up, drink more water. no matter how rotten I feel I always try to eat something light, like toast and take a multivitamin if there's one around.

Oh, Berocca works wonders, as well...
But you can't get it in the states as far as I know.

But if no Alka Seltzer, I try to take a few ibuprofen halfway through the night so that by the time I wake up it's in full effect. Really helps the head trauma.

Now a half a dozen Black and Tans...or one sip of any Budweiser product...and it is a different story.

What you drink is a big part of it. I don't get many hangovers but have never had one when I was drinking vodka. I'm with you on the Bud. It's "Feel like shit" in a can. As far as a cure nothing works like a couple of Bloody Mary's.

For me if it's really bad I take the good old ibuprofen. Sometimes if I know I have to work the next morning I drink a few glasses of water while I'm drinking and I usually don't get them.

This morning my friend did the drink the hangover out method.

What methods do you have? Any home made concoctions of your own?

Hangovers are caused by dehydration. So mix some water in-between your shots and you shouldn't have any problems the next morning.

I suffer with that quandary too. So I'll usually take some aspirin and drink a 20oz bottle of water about 10 minutes before bed. hehehe.

Drink a bottle of red wine, foillowed by half a bottle of port, and, if you're like me, no hangover! I only just discovered this recently...

As far as one glass of champagne to cause a hangover... I will say cheap booze often makes for worse hangover... cheaper alcohols seem to release more of the nasty chemicals which make you feel crap... but again, that could just be subjective.

On a serious note, I just drink a pint of water before bed, and keep a pint, or if I'm real drunk a big bottle, of water by the bed to drink during the night.

When I was in Germany, they told me to have a glass of water and a piece of dark chocolate before going to bed and it would prevent hangovers...I don't know why...but I like dark chocolate so what the hell!

And it may sound weird, but I drink Kool-Aid with hangovers...I think the sugar helps...

In undergrad, I was a strict Baileys & Coffee guy every morning to beat hangovers...I used to carry airline bottles of the stuff in my back pack so I could add it to the vending machine coffee...but that doesn't fly in the real world...

I'm glad you started this thread, CigarLover...I'm gonna try to revive it...

Really the best cure for a hangover is 1000 cc's of fluid through an IV and some oxygen. In about 15 min you are good to go. Getting an IV setup is kinda hard if you dont know anyone in the medical profession. All my friends love me. Nothing like some fluids and o2......If you cant get your hands on a paramedic drink a bunch of water and take 2 asprin before bed and if it is not gone when you wake up drink more and take 2 more asprin. Its all about dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic hence the frequent urination. Alcohol = lots of peeing = dehydration = hangover... Hope this helps

dehydration & sulfites in the drink are the big contributers-slam some water & a few ibuprofen b4 bed-or just do what i used to, have a 6pk the next morning before getting out of bed!
