lol... i don't think a single person here has said anything that disagrees with his statement though... back at ya.

most ppl are sick of insignificant "entertainers" who feel they're special because they weigh 75 lbs, only eat grapes and granola, and use 1 sheet of TP during the week... and then they start spewing things to the media they know nothing about, or can't prove. and like ghostrider said, it's a hot topic, to which i agree that we should be about recycling, and lowering our use of fossil fuels, all that jazz.... and some of these "entertainers" are exploiting the situation to either push their personal agenda or get their face in the papers to boost sales.

but nobody has said that they disagree that doing a little now won't help (or a LOT now).

hell, if they could make a truck that wasn't priced out the ass, ran on alternative fuel that was readily available in my area, and it wasn't a dog when i stepped on the gas - i'd buy one in a heartbeat, especially if it'll save me money at the pump.
problem is, to get some of those fuel cell cars, A) they're butt fuggin ugly, look like kids toys; B) they have less power than kids toys; C) i can't pull into a BP and fill er up with whatever it is they'd take... my employer doesn't have a surge protector outside for me to plug my car into...

until the entire US, starting with the gub'ment, oil companies, and car producers, get serious about this shit, nobody will find it a viable option.

over in germany, it's the LAW to recycle... hell, you can't even go out and warm up your car. you can't wash your car in the driveway with chemicals (car wash soap)... at least that's the way i was when i was there in the early 90s.

The Earth is warming up at a quicker pace than ever before, from what the research says. Do I think using one square of toilet paper is the answer? No. I can tell you I won't use 50 of them to thumb my nose at the "entertainers" either. A little common sense plays out when I wipe.

I remember when I was a kid, they were saying we were heading for another Ice age. Now the cause celeb is global warming. The earth is constantly changing and I'm of the opinion that there is very little man can do to change it and the changes occur slowly over hundreds and thousands of years. I'm all for keeping the enviroment clean, but I'm not for letting the enviromentalist whackos run the ship. If we let them run things, we will all be searching the web for black market toilet paper. According to the scientists in The Great Global Warming Swindle, CO2 levels and global temperature do have a correlational relationship. Except, it isn't what the alarmists are claiming. According to them, the records show that temperature goes up, then CO2 levels go up, temperature goes down, then CO2 levels go down. And there is a lag of, if I recall correctly, 100 yrs. If that is the case, CO2 is quite clearly not causing temperature change. The reason the alarmists are so convinced that the relationship is what they claim is that they have been looking at short term records, which do not cover a large enough span to show the true relationship.

Now, if "greenhouse gases" (which does include water vapor, the worst offender) don't cause temperature change, then why should we worry about the insignificant levels that we put out (insignificant compared to what is put out naturally by the ocean, volcanoes, decaying matter, etc.)?

And what harm could it do, to regulate the way the alarmists want? You mean besides crippling economies? Costing jobs? Raising prices on, well, everything (since everything we use relies on energy for production and/or transportation)?

What is ridiculous to me is that the alarmists, and in fact most of those who are proponents of the man-made theory of global warming, believe that we, insignificant little humans, are changing the weather. At the same time, they deny that the Sun, that gigantic ball of burning gas that is our neighbor, [SIZE=-1]864,938 miles in diameter, 109 times larger than the earth and burning at a temperature of millions of degrees, [/SIZE]has an impact. Especially in light of the fact that one of these scientists has developed a model of weather prediction that relies on the influence of the sun, and not man's contribution to global warming, that is more accurate than those in use elsewhere, which do rely on man's contribution.

P.S. I support drastically reducing the use of fossil fuels by switching to nuclear power. Unfortunately, that opinion seems to be in a fair minority, at the moment.

So, if the price of gas hadn't jumped so much in the past year or so, would this still be such a hot topic all around? The increase brought about the record setting profits of the oil companies, and those who sought to 'tax' those profits to fund alternative fuel sources.

That is not the case unfortunately. Pollutants in the air keep heat from escaping back out of our atmosphere. If CO2 rises, then the heat that is trapped within the atmosphere rises. There is no lag between the two.

It is not responsible IMHO, to justify not caring just because some extremist tards are predicting the end of the world on a Tuesday. The world is going to end, because everything that has a beginning, has an end. Plain and simple. Anyone who doesn't give a rats ass about what we're doing to the planet, to our children, and to ourselves, IMHO, is a waste of space. Sounds hard, and it is, but life is hard.
