Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny, gone but not forgotten

Most of you have heard, Carnac The Magnificent has passed away. I grew up watching him with my Father. What a great time in the 70's. So many funny routines, great entertainer and I know I will miss him.

Re: Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny, gone but not forgotten

yep, sucks. i would sneak out in the hallway and watch, thinking my parents wouldn't hear me... duh.

my favorite was when he'd have that big hat on, put the letter to his head and answer the question before he read it... then read it...

leno can't wipe the sweat from his sack.

I was surprised by the sadness I felt when I heard this. I too grew up watching him, having to sneak behind my parents to stay up.

Truly a master entertainer and unequaled today.

What a bummer. He had lived out of the spotlight for so long, I didn't even know he was sick.

This is only my opinion, but I don't think Jay Leno has ever managed to fill Carson's shoes.

Re: Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny, gone but not forgotten

He was truly one of the Greats of television. Late night has gone waaay down hill since he left the scene. Leno can't hold a candle to Johnny, never will!

IHT, you should write poetry.

I lived in LA for years and finally saw Carson in his last year on The Tonight Show. It was good to be able to see a legend.

I watch Letterman, I find his show a little more edgy and improvisational.

IHT's got it right, Leno doesn't fill Johnnys spot.

Nor was he supposed to replace him. Letterman was Carson's choice and he was being groomed for the spot. Somehow the execs decided oterwise.

I don't watch either because I have to get up at 4:15AM
