Cool Your Guitar(s) & Instruments—Photos Please

As I settle in and begin to make myself more at home here at Club Stogie I've become more and more aware of the talent that populates this tropical oasis. All walks of life, all manner of skills..amazing people.

I thought it might be fun to share photos of your pride and joy musical instruments. It could be a guitar or maybe a trumpet or even a dulcimer, who knows. Take this opportunity to show us your musical side and perhaps tell us a bit about your music.

Of course...it goes without saying...(the real reason for this thread)... I would like to share a few photos of some of my stringed friends.

I don't play with them as much as I should but I like to pick a little on Sunday mornings. Maybe a little open tuning on my 1976 Mossman, model "Winter Wheat"...yeah that's the ticket. Or perhaps plug in my Korean PRS copy and pretend I am Carlos as I work my way through the Korg "Tone Works" effects...and every once in a while I pick up the first guitar I ever bought, in 1971 with money from washing dishes...those nylon strings sometimes beg me to play a samba or an old Beatle's tune. I am not that good but it makes me feel good.

Re: Your Guitar(s) & Instruments—Photos Please

My pedalboard, doesn't look like that anymore, things have moved and I need to buy something to replace the Red Witch (something better).

My amp.

My baby, Yamaha Pacifica. My room's a mess right now, you can see a Humibag in the background containing some cigars.

Boss GT8 and Peterson VSII Virtual Strobe Tuner. Peterson tuners are the best, worth the investment. The GT8 is what I recorded that clip with.

A riff that myself and the guitar tutor (mostly guitar tutor) wrote, with an improvised (i.e. rubbish) lead.

Re: Your Guitar(s) & Instruments—Photos Please

I used to have a marshall half-stack and an original gibson flying V, but I had to sell to afford the move Had to sell my tama rockstar set and mackie 32*4 also. thogh I don't really need any sound reinforcement anymore, I go straight from instrument to 48khZ/24bit wav......

I now play a Schecter C1+ in vintage starburst straight into a behringer V-amp Pro, straight into Cubase 3 SX for recording. Since I don't play out, I have no need for a cabinet.... amp simulators have finally caught up. No pics yet, will snap some and add to the thread.

In the meantime, here's the rest of the home studio:
Triton Extreme, 2xkorg MS20 controllers, BCr2000 surface for cubase, m-audio firewire audio interface, S/PDIF 48khZ straight digital for triton internal sounds, and tons and tons and tons of VST instruments backed up by 3-server VST instrument farm. Shure Perception 200 for primary condenser in the booth, and 2xSM57 for dynamic micing. m-audio interface has phantom power built in.

Here are my babies:

both Ibanez. the El-geetar is Roadstar series and the electro-acoustic is Ibanez Talman limited edition. (quite funky color that Talman, eh?)

on top of those, if it can be counted. I play the drums on other peoples head with my Kendo Shinai here...

I wish I could find someone to take this Dr. Z off my hands.....wait, what did I say?

I liked the Matamps, definitely a unique thing going on with them. They have their own thing going, similar to the Dr. Zs. I've also owned two Carmen Ghias and a KT-45 but liked the Z-28 the most, just something about those 6V6s.

I have an old Fender Champ as well, tubes baby!

Up until last month I had a Rickenbacker Lap Steel Model B6 (Post War). I gave it to my son for his birthday.

There are a few more photos here.

David Lindley is/was an inspiration for the lap steel.

Here's my baby- one of the two acoustics I have.

A custom Gibson J45 with quilted maple sides and back.

I hurt my wrist snowboarding about 3 years ago and have not been able to play her as much as I'd like because of some arthritis that has been setting in.

She sure sings pretty though!
