Re: Favorite James Bond Actor
Honestly...Peter Sellers...are you bringing the Woody Allen "Bond" movie into the fold...
Anyhow, I feel they all brought some justice to Bond...Craig brings back the original James Bond that Ian Fleming introduced to the world...Connery was just a bad ass mofo (excluding the fake James Bond movie made in the 1980s starring him and Kim Basinger)...Lazenby had a bad script, if he had done Diamonds are forever I think he would be garnering a lot more respect...Moore made the bad scripts very watchable because of his ability to make light of some poorly written situations...Dalton was like Craig in the fact that he was not the most charismatic but got the job done. I especially liked the fact that he beat the hell out of Benicio del Toro in License to Kill....Brosnan is just cool. I loved watching him in Remington Steele...but to pick a favorite is hard...I have to lean towards Craig...he represents the original James Bond that Ian Fleming wanted to see... |

Re: Favorite James Bond Actor
Roger Moore was the coolest to me. He was introduced to me as the first Bond (childhood)..It was years later when i found out about Sean Connery. I enjoy Bond movies

Re: Favorite James Bond Actor
1. Sean Connery - look up James Bond in the dictionary he is there. He made this role.
2. Brosnan - I wish he had made more of them. 3. Dalton - he and Pierce needed better scripts. 4. Craig - Got his butt kicked often and for an agent just becoming an 00 he was too old for this part. If Matt Damon of Bourne had not done those 2 movies he would have been a perfect young new James Bond instead of Craig who looked to be in his 40's. Also the villian had no badass sidekick and he cries in blood,,,,so what. The card game was a low point in all Bond films. At least the torture scene was funny. 5. Moore - funny but when Roger hit someone and then would wince in pain holding his hand......definetly not Bond material.

Re: Favorite James Bond Actor
Connery - Had the best lines, best attitude/personality. Didn't have the right look for the character though. He wasn't the most graceful person in an actions scene, but no one can deny how statuesque he looked in a tux. B+
Dalton - Physically, he looked alright, but he suffered from having two of the least popular Bond scripts. He was too quiet of a character though, he didn't have the swashbuckling attitude needed to portray Bond best. He was actually too graceful for the role, he wasn't the "hardened killer" sort of personality or look. C+ Lazenby - Had a good look, was a "hard-ass" sort of character. Unfortunately, he had next to zero acting experience, and wasn't able to produce the personality quite right...he was too smile and uptight. He also got stuck with one of the worst Bond scripts in history, mostly because it deviated from the "Bond mentality" of "shoot first, ask questions later" with the romance plot. C+ Brosnan - By far of all the actors, Brosnan has "the look" to be Bond. Smiling, hard faced, and I swear the SOB was born in a tux. Unfortunately, he wasn't quite suave enough as a ladies' man to swoon hearts. He also picked up the role of Bond well after Fleming's original series was over, which may have had an adverse impact. Brosnan's roles were in scripts that deviated too much from the Cold War era "Bond mentality," which hurt his reviews. B+ Moore - While Connery got lines like "The name's Bond...James Bond," Moore got lines like "Oh by the way, mu name is James Bond." He was far too old and gentlemanly for the role of Bond, not rough enough. However, he worked rather doggedly at it, and still managed to adapt well to the role. B- Craig - Unless he forced the Casino Royale job to look like the unrefined Bond that the book describes him as, he doesn't have it. He's too rough, not nearly smiling enough. Hopefully this is an evolving character line and not how he plans to play bond forever. He's also too quiet. C- (for now)
