Michael Moore Making Sense...

What do you think about Michael Moore's new movie/documentry SICKO researching/comparing the Cuba's medical system to ours in America. He seems to make some good points. Yes this is the same movie that landed him in trouble for filming in Cuba. I still think it was for publicity for marketing the movie. He took twelve sick/broken first responsders from NY 9/11 tragedy off the coast to Guantanamo Bay to see how the evil doers/terrorists are getting better treatment from the military while our heros of 9/11 are/have not been receiving adequate care. What are your thoughts?

To Gitmo, or to Cuba itself? Given MM's outlook, I expect the latter.

I like Michael Moore fine for what he does: muck-raking. No, he's not terribly rigorous with the facts, but he's good at fanning flames and getting public discourse buzzing about some important issues.

His latest project seems to have a lot going for it. Specifically, I think it's a brilliant rhetorical gambit that allows him to situate his left-leaning politics within a patriotric framework ("We all know the US should be the best, but why is our healthcare a mess when even those Communist bogeymen in Cuba seem to have decent healthcare?")

I'll probably end up watching it.

Like always Mr. Moore is full of it, The people he took to Cuba to get free health care ended up coming back with worse problems than they left with.

He was on Stern today and I am not really a huge fan of his (mainly his attack on all Republicans as being lovers of Bush) but some of what he said was pretty interesting. But, it is definetally a movie I would like to check out. I found his movie Bowling for Columbine pretty compelling since I work in a high school. I have not seen 9/11, so I have no opinion on that movie. Society needs people on both sides to mix it up. Our lawmakers should be questioned (both sides of the aisle) and should be held accountable if they are not doing enough to help out those who need it.

This is pretty parrallel with this new movie.

I'd be surprised if they let him in. Gitmo's a major strategic base, it's not exactly Fort Sheridan or the Presidio.

But then, this is Michael Moore we're talking about...if he said the sun rose in the east, I'd go outside to check.

Yeah! Screw the facts as long as he starts some debate!!

The fact that any first responder from 9/11 isn't getting whatever help he or she needs does piss me off royally though.

I'll have to see the movie before I make a response. I thought his 1st movie was very informative , but since that 1st movie, he has been nothing more than a "bomb thrower".

I might watch this one, didn't watch the last one about 9/11. "Bowling for Columbine" was a valiant effort in a anti-gun/bleeding heart kind of way.

if everything is so much better in Cuba, why do so many Cubans risk thier lives to come to America? They have great cigars,rum,music,ect. Maybe it has something to do with the lack of personal freedom under a commie.

What are people like Michael Moore gonna do when Bush is gone?

Documentary assumes un-bias presentation of facts. MM's works does not fall anywhere close to that definition! Find a word that has excrement, sewers, outhouses, or the like in it, and then you might have a word to describe MM's output.

The man is an embarrassment.
Where else on this planet can someone live in such a great country as ours, be uglier than sin, become filthy rich, own mansions all over, travel in private planes and ride in limos? All that and yet bash this great land by pretending to be poor and stating no one has any opportunities in this great land.

I woud imagine his biased documentary about Cuba will be as biased and one sided as anything the idiot has done in the past. Great healthcare in Cuba. Sure, I always love to hear that ignorant statement (not intended as insult but rather as the true definition of the word). Well, if Cuba has an enviable health care system then I am the Pope. Would anyone believe that I am? Why not? If anyone believes Cuba has a great healthcare system for all the people, equally for all the people, well, then I guess I am the Pope and that too should be believed. I guess my relatives that get teeth pulled with no medication, in cold blood, would love a shot at seeing just how lousy our system really is.

Now.......anyone really care to read what I really think of Michael Moore?
