Victor Wooten - As a bass player, this never gets old

Seriously though, send me a PM and I'll fire off at least a few samples for you.

New music.. hmmm. Nothing has really knocked my socks off in a little while. Songs here and there. If we're talking new as in the past few years then;
Muse - Absolution
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Ok Go - Ok Go
tracks 2 and 10 Coheed and Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth
tracks 1, 3 and 5 Maroon5 - Songs About Jane
track 4 Alter Bridge - Alter Bridge
track 2 Something Corporate - North

Older Artists new music:
Stray Cats - Rumble in Brixton. Not exactly new tunes, but new release, plus Brian Setzer just rocks.

Yeah man, they were nice guys. They have always gotten a big crowd. They are probably the biggest band, as far as todays standards are concerned, that we ever played with. Beloved, a band that I have been into since they started out a long time ago, is another band that is getting fairly big that we played with. I will tell you what though, there is a band called mewithoutyou. If you ever get the chance to see them, go for it. I think you would really like these guys. If you dont like the music, you will love the message. Their front man is one of the nicest, most genuine, person I have ever met. I dont own any of their cd's, but I never miss a show.

I have heard just a bit of them and wasn't really diggin' it. But if I ever have a chance to catch'em live, I'll take your word for it. You got any cd's of your stuff? Maybe we can do a swaperoni....

It's a Stray Cats 2004 double live CD. Original 3 guys. It sounds pretty good and drips vibe, reminds me of when bands could seriously play.

Re: Favorite -new- band

Interpol (best to emerge in a while)
Franz Ferdinand
Arcade Fire
Iron and Wine
Pedro the Lion
Belle & Sebastian (Indie band who's been around for years)
Wilco (not new but many have still not discovered them...put on a kickass live show as well)

I have about a thousand cd's and I am getting sick of them all.

Pedro is pretty good. If I can dig up any of my old stuff, I will send you a PM. We never finished recording most of our good stuff, but we have a few old EP's floating around. I think I am the worst studio bass player ever. When I am stuck in the box, I tend to play sub par.

Re: Favorite -new- band

I've really been digging the Dollyrots lately. I have a crush on their singer and am waiting for the chance to be her groupie.

Other kinda new bands that I've take a shine to: Throw Rag, Hangmen, Street Dogs, and the New *****graphers.

Re: Favorite -new- band

For some reason the auto alert function kicked off for this thread. Sorry for starting this and not responding to anybody. Thanks for giving me some ideas. I'll have to put my listening muffs on.
