Nah, cut and pasted from the script. And thanks for the edit -- missed that one.

guns are a lot of weight. I will get my food from towns along the way. I will be stopping every 5 days or so to pick up mail in towns.

Re: Taking a walk...gone for a while

hey, let me know when you're in maryland - the trail goes right behind the Marley Station Mall (I think) as well as about 15 minutes from work~ would be an honor to have a cigar with you!

Roger Miller's question about the gun is pretty valid. Been a few murders on the trail in recent years. Keltec makes a .32 and a .380 auto that weighs in a little over 10 0z loaded, very concealable. Dont mean to sound paranoid, but it might save your a**. Frank B

I have a camp in Maine and your welcome to stop/stay shower and share a smoke at the end of your trip.

PM me.

That's very cool. I'm quite impressed, I've never done more than day hikes. Stay safe and enjoy yourself!

Once in a lifetime experience. Hope you stop to smell the roses and smoke the rolled up plant life. Maybe you should post your itinerary so we can have a Where is the hikerman today thread.

Have a great time Blake.

No worries man, I have had this discussion several times. The trail is a very safe place. It has had 7 murders on it in its 70 some odd years of existance. Now, it has roughly 2 million visitors each year. That is a pretty safe record. Much safer than your average town.

That will be an awesome adventure. Is the email so you can update us along the way? Do you have a way to share digital photos of the journey?
