accident+debt=no more cigars purchases

Well recently i was in a car accident that has left me in a wheel chair for 3 weeks(asshole trucker who rearended me just laughed after the accident ) My car was totaled and i dont have collision on it. anyone have a 1965 or 66 corvair for sale let me know i need a new one. anyways my medical bills will only be covered about half for everything so looks like my cigar purchases will be on hold for a while. Sucks but at least ill be fine in about 2 months. i hate wheel chairs. I officially hate truckers . they killed my Car. I had just finished it. GAAAA. oh well shit happens. P-Town smokes i hope you got the ones i sent for the blind taste test sorry i couldnt include more but i was away from the humidor. anyways. just had to vent.

Re: accident+debt=no more cigars purchases

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I have a 911 that was my obsession and passion for a couple of years until it was done. I still love the car and don't get too many spare moments to drive it, but I still love the car. Hopefully you can get another Corvair and start again.

In the mean time, from one car guy to another, if you PM me your address, I'll send you some smokes to enjoy while you're looking through the Recycler for another flatsix.

Glad to hear you are going to recover! So sorry about your situation. If it was the a-hole truckers fault, why isn't his insurance comping you 100%?

Re: accident+debt=no more cigars purchases

i dont know what im getting from the truck company they are claiming that it is some how my fault. not quite sure how that could be. the light was red i stopped he didnt easy as that. they are still investigating it so we will see but right now between my car and and medical bills my banks loan department is going to be very happy. if i dont get anything im going to sue the trucker.at least thats what my lawer said to do. im not going to if i get compensated, dont believe in doing that but the trucker is still an ass. oh well we'll see i guess. im just glad that noone was in the car with me.

First off I am sorry you were in a car accident, but like everyone else has said I'm glad that you are ok. And here are my thoughts on this whole thing.

Any time you are a victim in a accident that involves being rear ended it is automatically their fault, not yours.............no ifs, ands, or butts about it. If they try to say other wise, go down and get a lawyer, let him hash it out for you. This way it is all done by a pro and if the lawyer is worth a shit you'll get the truckers insurance company to A) get you a rental car until they figure out how much money they (the truckers insurance company) owe you (for the loss of your car, the inabilty to work....there are a lot of things a lawyer can help you get from a insurance company.....trust me I know) B) Pay for all your medical bills and C) you might even get a settlement out of the deal. Was the truck driver working for a local or commercial company? This also might make a difference. I wish you the best of luck. Also call the police station and find out as much info that they can give you about what they wrote up regarding your accident. Make sure they got your statement correct. Just because they are cops doesn't mean they don't make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes....you need to double check them.

-----------------------------------------
EDIT.....never mind the lawyer bit. I just reread your last post and I see you already have one....thats great.

What CT said. Also, did the cops ticket anybody (the truck driver) in the accident?
