How many BOTLs smoke or used to smoke cigs?

Never really smoked cigs. Maybe a few times and I never inhaled (that's a punch line waiting to happen) I remeber my cousin got some cigs we were both about 14 or 15 and we thought we were cool, Smoking them. We tried redman chewing tobaccoo once. I swallowed the juiced and got sick as a dog and went to sleep for the rest of the day, and then my cousin ralphed every where. Oh man good times.

Hi all,

Tried smoking cigs in my teens- hack- cough -and that was it, nada. However, I like the smell of buring cigars, and with that I began to enjoy an occasional cigar 2 years or so ago in my 40's.
However, concerns of cancer are on my mind with my mother's recent diagnosis this last year at 72.

I had 10 more cigars left in my humidor: Punch Puros, Onyx Reserves,Romeo Y Julieta Reserves ~~~~~

Well-back to focusing on my cycling hobby- maybe 30 or 40 miles a day will break the urge for a stoggie;will my pints of Black Butte Porter ever be the same.... perish that thought.

after smoking for over 10 years, I made the deal with the ol' lady that I would quit smoking cigarettes if I could get a collection of cigars

As of today, I have only had 3 cigarettes since (all on a drunk night), but I think I would have been better off financially if I would have never picked up a cigar and kept smoking the cancer sticks.

Smoked lots of cigs in college, tapered off after graduation, and quit entirely when I met my wife-to-be. I lent her a book that smelled of tobacco smoke, and when she asked about it I lied and told her I liked the occasional cigar. That was true, by the way, but not the "whole truth." I had to get rid of the cigarettes and lay in a whole lot more cigars pronto.

And when I was losing my mind from kicking cigarettes I gnashed and growled and told her "I just need some alone time." I wanted to quit anyway, so it all worked out. Except for the financial part, that is. We are STILL working that part out...

I started smoking cig's at age 14, 34 years ago ... pretty much quit them while i was in the Corps, started them again in 84' or so when I got out and have had a big bad habbit ever since, Am now down to jus a few a day and am learning to enjoy cigars instead of those nasty little cig's
I've done some hard things in my life, but has got to be one of the toughest!

Smoked cigs for quite a while in my late teens to early twenty's.
Smoked as much as two packs a day at times.

Fortunately, kicked the habit for good nearly 20 years ago and have never had the urge to touch one again.

A few years after quitting, decided to give a cigar a shot and here we are today. Very first one was a Padron.

I started smoking cigarettes at the age of 17 and then at the age of 32 started smoking cigars while still smoking cigarettes. Had my last cigarette late last year and my cigar smoking has more than double. Now I need to curtail my cigar smoking.

I smoked my last cigarette in 1993. I have smoked 3-5 cigars a week for the last couple of years.

Obviously people's experience can vary, but I don't think it would have been possible for me to "switch" from cigarettes to cigars. I think smoking cigars would have been an obstacle when I was trying to quit cigarettes, not a help.

Quit smoking Cigarettes 26 years ago July 4. Used to smoke 2 1/2 packs a day. Don't miss them at all.

dip snuff at work...cigars at home/just relaxing...cigs when drinking(with a cigar thrown in just for good drunk kicks)
