How many BOTLs smoke or used to smoke cigs?
The recent inhalation post prompted this. Many posters referenced their past ciggarette smoking.
How many used to smoke cigs but stopped for cigars? Did cigar smoking help you stop? |

Started smoking cigars at age 18.
Started smoking dunhill cigs on 21st birthday (Kept smoking cigars) Quit smoking cigs on 31st birhtday. (Kept smoking cigars) Started smoking cigs again on and off at 40 (KSC) Used the patch to quit cigs on 47th birthday (KSC) Used the gum to quit the patch 3 months later (etc) Still chew the gum - the only continuity has been cigars. Told the wife was willing to trade the gum for a sexual addiction. She told me they might be coming out with a new "in your dreams" flavor of the gum so I could have some variety. |

I smoked Cigs for 22 yrs (OMG) and then quit cold turkey. 1&1/2 yrs later I found the Leaf
 (this past December).

Trying to quit cigs, down to a few a day, mostly in the morning on my second cigar making money job. Hope to quit for good. Cigars are so much better, maybe not heathly, but better

I only smoked a cig every now and then when I drank in my early 20's... drunk and not knowing any better, otherwise, no, never smoked those stinky sticks!!

[/QUOTEIt took me 25 years to quit those damn things, pardon my french but it was the hardest thing I ever ovecame. Don it has to be cold turkey my friend.. I tried all the gums,pills,patches. Only one way worked for me(C-4 in my shorts) no sex so I didn't need the after smoke anymore. Not really but I thought it had a nice touch.. I just had to get it into my head to stop.. I weeezed something awful. I finally set them down and haven't had on in almost 5 years. Cigars are different for me, I smokem because I want to not because I want to. My terms.. So if any of you smoke cigs QUIT because at some point I want to Herf with as many of as want to. my dollar 298

I have been smoking ciggs since i was thirteen, lower end cigars since 15, and handmade cigars for 2-3 weeks. I'm down to two packs of Reds a day now and will one day just decide i've had enough of them and quit cold turkey.......today is not that day.

Dumped the cigarettes about 12 years ago. Kept up the Skoal habit. Started smoking cigars again about 5 years ago. Now if I could kick the heroin........

I quit smoking 10 years ago, but soon after started chewing tobacco, then quit that, went back to smoking cigs again for a short time, then went to smoking cigars. It seems I just can't live without some sort of tobacco.
