Same here. I hit 310 once. That coupled with high BP and .

Walking does the trick for me. Took Zocor for a year and stopped. We'll see what the next lab work says...

Re: Just did a home cholesterol test, I take it higher isn't necessarily better.

I recently had a physical.. my total count is 280. I haven't seen the complete lab write-up yet, but I've started my Investigations into Diet. I was prescribed tricor and zocor. I haven't had a chance to discuss the results with my physician yet, but I would like to try and tackle this with diet.

Keep in mind when reading the following. These are general recommendations on diet, not specific to anyone's physical condition. I plan on having a more in depth conversation soon, so she can make better recommendations based on my current diet and lifestyle.

I have a close friend that is a nutritionist. Without having gone into too much depth yet the first recommendation was a packet of oatmeal every morning with a piece of fruit. The oatmeal binds to the cholesterol. Next....no more salt shaker, easy on the soy sauce and all condiments.

Some interesting articles she pointed me towards as well.
