Booker, my heart goes out to you and your family. For those who have pets, we all know exactly how much we love them and what they mean to us.

The thing about animals is that they're not judgemental. They don't care if you're pretty or ugly. They don't care if you walk with a limp or have a crooked smile. They don't care if you are smart, stupid, or somewhere in between. Their love is just there.

Reading that Rainbow Bridge post brought tears back to my eyes, remembering my cat Buttons. He died having only lived for 8 months. The vet sent me a card with that text on it.

Booker, just remember all the good times you had. You will never be able to replace him, but you'll be able to find another dog that's deserving of your (and your daughter's) love eventually. And then the good times can start again.
