One cleaning tip that works well......Larry Roush sells a silver polishing cloth to polish the silver bands on his pipes. He recommended to me to use this wipe for the stem. This works really well......removes all the oxidation and keeps the stem shiny and black.

thanks for the tip Bruce. To me this particular pipe is not really worth the effort...it doesn't smoke that well, wants to gurgle, the fills raised and turned pale colored, the stem...blah blah blah. But I will certainly try that silver cleaner on another 2 that I have that ARE good smokers
