Va and Vapers

I have a tin of x-cheer 05, so I bought a pipe specifically to smoke it in and perhaps keep as a Va pipe. Can it be used to smoke vapers as well, or will these type of blends leave a ghost which will dampen my Va experience in the future?

Edit: Sorry for posting in the wrong section. Can a well meaning moderator move it over to where it belongs? Thanks

Re: Va and Vapers

depends on the strength/amount of perique in those Va/Pers. if you make the mistake and think that GLPease Haddos Delight is a Va/Per, smoke about 10 bowls in the pipe, then go and throw some Hal o' the Wynd in there, you'll get a ghost of heavy perique and a bit of latakia in the mix.

if you use a very lightly perique dosed Va/Per, then you still may get a tiny bit of perique ghosting.

i have used a VA pipe with a VA/burley blend before, haven't noticed much.
oh, i have also used my Va/Per pipes for VAs sometimes, and i get a teeny-tiny bit of perique ghosting.

Re: Va and Vapers

From the sounds of it I guess I'll just keep that as strickly a Va pipe just to be on the safe side, get a few other pipes for other types of blends. Cool...
Thanks for the info, IHT

Re: Va and Vapers

Good advice, all the above.

But if you are huffing away at Xmax Cheer in that pipe and then have a VA/Per bowl every so often I doubt you will notice. I could be wrong but my experience shows that ghost flavors tend to build up over more than a couple of bowls. Of course some super strongly flavored blend or aro can certainly taint (I love that word) a pipe right away, I personally have not had any issue tossing a VA/Per into a VA-predominant pipe every so often.

Beware though that my taste buds may simply not be as sensitive as others
