up to 3 wins. really nice grain on this Stanwell... not doing too bad, still pissed about that Savinelli, which i didn't put a hammersnipe bid on because i figured it would get too expensive... ends up being the cheapest one i could have won (if the other person didn't bid that much higher).

this is what i've nabbed so far

Re: Ebay Tragedy.

Hey guys, for what it's worth, I have been an eBay seller and occasional buyer for about ten years now. Over all, I have about 1600 sales and about 350 buys, so I've learned not to get too stressed out about bidding for something I like. Funny thing about eBay, since there are hundreds of thousands of items listed every week, just wait patiently and before you know it, something similar to what you missed out on will pop up again. I have learned to simply figure out what the maximum is that I am willing to pay for an item. Seriously think it over, and come up with the highest figure your willing to pay. Once you do that, simply place your bid, in that amount, and forget about it. Either you win or you don't. It's that simple. The system is designed as proxy bidding and works very well.

If anyone is interested, I started out as "BottomLineSales" for several years, back in the 90s. Then I stopped completely, for about two years, when I relocated from Illinois to Nevada. When I started up again, I took up a new name. "JLavoauctions". That is now my ID on eBay.

Re: Ebay Tragedy.

I love to see my fellow eBayers. I am not buying anymore pipes right now as I already have more than I can smoke.

How's that Baccyflap working out Greg? I'm watching the ones now and keep debating picking on up for the heck of it. I could use one for travel.

I'm SUOrangeGuy on eBay. Creative huh?

Dammit! I was waiting for the time to come down on that Stanwell. I lost myself in searching through back posts and when I came to, IHT took this one also. Now you stay away from that diplomat and royal prince... I think I give up. Apparently IHT knows what I want, and doesn't want me to have it.

which diplomat, and which royal prince?
i'm watching one more diplomat, and just lost on something cuz Kayak Rat said he was gonna bid, then he goes and DOESN'T!!?? and i really, really wanted that canadian... bastage.

zack and i were skyping about these, and we figure out that he wants the same pipe i have a hammersnipe bid in on... since i already won 3, i took my bids down... then he goes and just doesn't bid at all?? what a pal, huh?

johnny, i understand, i'm not really worked up, it's just funny that the lag caused me to lose one... i'm actually doing this for some fun, maybe bomb some ppl, who knows, i may keep 'em all and send out some of my current pipes in bombs?

edit: as much as i've been wanting a white stemmed pipe, i'm passing on that '82 Xmas pipe.

Re: Ebay Tragedy.

I was looking at the diplomat 29. I just lost the Royal Prince that I was hoping for. However, please don't hold back bidding on my count. I wouldn't feel right about it. Which diplomat were you watching?

Re: Ebay Tragedy.

Safari Bob smoked me a couple of times.
Lag killed me on one I missed by 50 cents.
Had the first Lillihammer locked at $13.45 with 10 seconds to go and some dude from Japan came in at $51.
Not my night. Hittin' the sack.
Maybe my wife will buy me my first pipe for Christmas.

Yeah, I'd imagine that one is going to get driven up pretty high.
