Drying out Rattray's

So I think that I messed up a little. I opened a tin of Old Gowrie a few weeks ago and then put the stuff in a mason jar. This stuff was super moist when I first pulled it out and I would set out a bowlful and allow it to dry out for probably about an hour before I even tried to smoke it. Well I got tired of drying out each bowl before I smoked it so I thought that I would dry the whole jarful at once so I wouldn't have to leave it out so long before I smoked it. Well what was originally planned to be overnight turned out to be about a day and a half. Now it's pretty dry but I haven't tried it yet. Do you guys think that it's too dry now and I need to rehydrate it? How long do you usually dry this stuff out for?

Really the only person that could know if its too dry would be you. Smoke a bowl and then asses your situation from there. Personally, I don't imagine that it would have gotten very dried out, unless it was in direct sunlight or the temperature where it was kept was too high. Just my.

agreed - unless you're in Phoenix I'm sure it's not even close. DO try a bowl. I wouldn't be surprised if what you ended up doing was simply making it so that the per-bowl dry time will be more reasonable from here on.

Being in the tin/jar is what slows the dry down quite a bit. Now if you would have spread the tin out across your kitchen counter for that long, that would have been a different story
