Radice - Experience? - worth the $?

So ... here I'm not minding my own business & chugging through other peoples threads, mainly the one about chubbies ..... thought I'd toss in my worth of banter & google up some examples of bulldog & rhodesians that were not so traditional. I should have known better, as this type of research behavior usually gets me looking at another pipe.

This time is no different.



Soooooo ..... whatcha all know about Radice pipes ? ... this beautiful bull caught my eye & I'm hem-hawing about maybe pulling the trigger. Figured I'd try & get some input before I spent the money they want, as I don't even know if this is a good price for Radice .... smokershaven.com is asking $260.

Think it's worth it ? It sure is a beauty !

Looking here, the 2-dot logo, crossways on the stem means it's a twin bore. Anyone have any experience with the Radice twin bore system ? If so ... your thoughts ?

Anything I should know or any little tidbits are appreciated ... before I blow my wad on this little faux-bamboo puppy.

I know nothing of Radice pipes but that is an awesome piece. I like it!

(Although the smokershaven rhody dog offerings are nice, none quite do IT for me.)

Might be a little late but I love Radices. Some, if not most, are oil-cured which gives a great smoke with very little break in. The twin bore system doesn't seem to do much, imho, and it is sometimes hard to get a cleaner down the stem but the pipes are superb. $260 isn't bad, maybe a tad high but I think you will enjoy it enough to compensate.

yup....not actual bamboo, but carved from the briar block. Looks like Radice does quite a bit of that, along with a few real bamboo pipes as well.
