Odyssey & Escudo in Same Pipe?

Just a quick question guys: Is it okay to use the same pipe for both Odyssey and Escudo? And I'll take it a step further... could I also use London Mixture in it as well? Thanks!!

Re: Odyssey & Escudo in Same Pipe?

i've been around Odyssey just recently, and smoke Escudo all the time...
my answer, and everyone elses, would be NO.
Odyssey is a heavy, heavy latakia blend, at least it smells that way to my nose - so much so that when i got a whiff of it at the last KC herf from monsoons pipe, i quickly wrinkled up my nose and turned his way to see if his hair was on fire.
Escudo is a Va/Per, so it should be a little peppery and mostly semi-sweet VA in flavor.
two totally different blends. the latakia would end up ghosting the pipe and any time you smoked Escudo in it, you'd be tasting a lot of the Odyssey as well.

Thanks Greg. I'm just starting to find some favorites, and can't wait to start picking up some "real" pipes.

No, I wouldn't. Two entirely different blends, you'd get some ghosting going on. Greg said it better though lol.

Re: Odyssey & Escudo in Same Pipe?

What they said.

And you know while you can never have enough cigars stashed away, so it is with pipes.

There are sooooo many perfectly good smoking, inexpensive pipes around for less than a box of AF CHD's. It would be a crying shame to cheat yourself out of all the flavors you can have from a nice blend you chose because you didn't have that spare pipe...
