Kaywoodie Prince Dating ?

Ever date a prince ? ..... How 'bout a Kaywoodie Prince ?

I received this beauty from my Pipe Santa, and hoped someone could help me out with dating it. The closest I've been able to come, is somewhere from the 1930's to the 1970's.









Showed this to Chad at the last KC herf & we talked a little about the number of holes in the stinger ....... he even sent me to a great site to find out, but the site isn't working yet for the most part.

Maybe someone has some solid info on this stuff.

It really is a handsome pipe. How long is it, please?

Father-in-law put me into a K'Wdy in December except it was rode hard and put up wet about 50 years ago. I do not believe it will ever shine like the Erat'm prince.

Its a post WWII pipe, you can tell by the Kaywoodie being stamped over Super Grain.

The shape #96 was produced from 1931 to 1972. Also your pipe appears to have a three hole stinger (the ball on the end of the metal condenser piece). These were put into production around 1958.

So best guess is yours was made somewhere between 1958 and 1972.

I just realized I left out the part about the stinger, I was going to say 55 to 72.

Thanks for the links & the comments, folks ! ... drumming through the pages linked in this thread, it seems that if you can tie down the date of a Kaywoodie within a range of 20 years, then you are doing pretty good. lol
